That rumor is picking up speed. I'm not getting my hopes up. There are rumors about possibly replacing Clancy Pendergast with a new DC also.

Close. Kliff not Kiff. He was rumored to be in L.A. recently. Maybe just as Ryan Gosling's stunt double, who knows?

also some rumors on some boards about aranda leaving for USC as well. dont really get those rumors as i doubt aranda would be leaving for anything other than a head coaching job but man, that would work out for helton if he has kliff and aranda

If Kliff and Aranda came to USC as OC/DC, I might just get down off this ledge.

Both are more qualified to be head coaches than Helton.

I can't imagine a situation where a big name coordinator goes to USC no matter what they are willing to pay. Wouldn't make any sense as a long term decision. Coach for 1-2 years for an incompetent buffoon with what end game?

You say that like Aranda hasn't done that before.

Call me crazy, but this could just possibly work: Clay is popular with players and their families because of his "Faith, Family, Football" mantra. I'm fine with that. I'm not fine with the fact that despite the fact that he's a really nice guy who cares about his players, that he can't coach his way out of a cardboard box. If Swann says, we're keeping you, but you don't control tactical on the field decisions anymore, I'm actually down with that. I'm still not optimistic about anything USC decision related until it actually happens, but I'm saying "there's a chance".

Can't see it happening but my God would that be a bad look for Coach O. Aranda wouldn't be leaving for money as he's already locked up for years as the country's highest paid DC. So if he leaves for another DC job, it's to get away from O. That'd come a year after parting ways with the nation's highest paid OC. That'd cause one hell of a Rant melt.

Not gonna happen. USC is not going to pay that much for a coordinator.

No doubt. Probably the biggest melt since Joe McKnight signed with USC.

KK would be an idiot to attach himself to Helton. Dude just sacrificed 3-4 assistants to save his arse. School doesn’t have a president. Helton is on the hottest of hot seats. Would be really dumb to sign up with that instability.

But the coeds...

One of the best kept secrets in CFB is that Kliff is a hard 6 without sunglasses
