Lol so now Bryce Underwood will flop because he flipped to Michigan.

It is more likely than not that he doesn’t live up to his hype.

Seems like most QB prospects would look at the NFL QBs he produced and decide all other options might be better.

Gardner Minshew might be on top of that list and the only reason he plays is because the real talent got hurt or hit a slump.

But can work with the right personnel just like any other offense/defense philosophy

I loved Mike Leach, but the air raid offense got shut down by good defenses. He did not tear it up at Miss State offensively. They had some good games (like when LSU made their QB a Heisman candidate until he played someone else), but generally they got shut down by decent defenses. Maybe this isn’t true if he would have top notch offensive talent, but we sadly won’t know.

Phil Longo runs a more modern air raid and is available after a disastrous marriage in Wisconsin.

Mike Leach was no where near Mahomes time at TTU. If you're giving him credit via Kingsbury, who runs a much more modern offense with some Leach wrinkles, then you can give him credit for Manziel as well.

I understand all of that and agree. The title of the thread is

The post I responded to was insinuating that Mike Leach QBs don’t pan out in the NFL, which, while somewhat accurate, is irrelevant to the discussion of former Leach assistants.

It's Brian Kelly's offense, Brian Kelly's playbook and Brian Kelly's scheme. You're not going to get an OC come in and run something different from that as long as Brian Kelly is the head coach.

So, did BK's offense finish #1 in the country LY or was that someone else's ?

I’d rather see someone run A-Gap power and trap out of the I 30 times a game than Air Raid

Would probably kill it in today's soft era of football.
