Nobody cares about some meaningless attempt to save face by letting a couple of coaches go in the middle of a horrible season
Make him coach and lead the people he put in those positions. When the season is over clean house

Both the offensive co-ordinator and the O-Line coach should be gone! Namely Sloan and Davis!

They are gone today along with the special teams coach

I agree. In some ways he should be given credit for stabilizing the ship a bit after O but after that has been abysmal

Times like this it really hurts that we don’t have smart people running the program. Only hope is that they accidentally fail forward.

Exactly. This is having a huge impact on what can feasibly be done right now.

People have said his wife has been miserable in La. for a while now and wants to move back up north. To the point that it has strained the marriage. He’s just biding his time. Heart’s definitely not in it.

Looks like we can expect offensive changes today

If this happens it’s a strong indicator that Kelly returns.

“LSU could also fire Kelly without having to buy his assistants out of their contracts. All coaches on his staff signed deals with clauses that free the athletic department from paying the full cost of their buyouts either if Kelly is no longer LSU’s head coach or if they leave the program to take other jobs.”
NOLA.com Article

If you’re firing Kelly you don’t dump assistants first, who are then owed buyouts, when you can fire Kelly first and avoid paying remaining money on the contracts of the assistants you fire.

Maybe they can demote or reassign, change play caller, in lieu of firing. Not sure how that all works.

These terms also reduce the likelihood that a top guy would come on as OC for a coach on the brink of being let go.

Didn’t he file for divorce at one time? Don’t know why his wife’s feelings would matter to him

lol easily in place, just a matter of how long they’re willing to wait to fire him. The money is ready to go though.
