There's no end in sight to our suckage. I honestly don't think we'll be remotely competitive at any point in this decade.
Golden, Fedora, Fisher, Smart.
These guys aren't good enough to turn it around.

And how in the hell do know Gruden would? All those coaches you've named have at least won on the college lever, except for Smart of course, and he's out of the question because he doesn't fit Hart's criteria for who he's looking for.

Big programs just totally miss the boat on hiring young coaches at smaller programs. If a guy can coach at IAA or II, he can coach a UT.
It doesn't change. FB is FB, always has been and always will be. DI is chock full of coaches that know someone, it's that kind of business.

UT has made some atrocious decisions over the past several years and the rebuilding effort is going to be a lot harder given the status of programs in and near the states from which the Vols used to be able to get recruits. It's a different ballgame entirely now and not all of it is on UT's coach.

Smart could be a good hire, as well. UT defense should be ready to compete in the SEC right away.

It seriously looks like the hogs will be bottom of the West for the forseeable future. At least until Sumlin, Mullen, or Freeze are poached.

I love that people base everything about us off of this year.... look at recent history and we have OWNED A&M. They beat us this year... welcome to the friggin club.... ULM and Rutgers did too among others.
