Gundy has been there forever without really doing anything spectacular.

By Oklahoma State standards I’d say his tenure has been spectacular.

He's has won more games than any coach in OSU history based on overall wins and is number two based on winning percentage. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

LINK

Les Miles is number five based on winning percentage.

He won 10 games last year and 3 of Oklahoma states losses this year (2 of which were ranked at the time) were by 1 score. It would be a little shocking if he got fired this year. I could see him maybe making some staffing changes.

I’d say he’s a big “I’m tired of the new college football world I’m retiring” candidate

I can definitely see that happening. However he was (allegedly) doing the 'N.I.L. stuff before N.I.L. was a thing.

Oklahoma State can’t do better (long term) than Gundy. Any coach they get that might be better than Gundy would leave in 3 years. Chances are high that a new coach would be worse.

Compared to the rest of OSU's history, he has been spectacular.

Gundy has a perpetually renewing contract unless either side cancels starting a five-year countdown. I think the buyout is somewhere in the $25 million range.

His comments a few weeks ago have caused a backlash, the true measure of which will be in donations and season ticket renewals.

I don't think he'll get fired, but this could very well be the beginning of the end. He has to change coordinators and several assistants.

Gundy has done about all he's gonna do at Okie Lite.

I think more along the lines of player entitlement from the open payment of players and open transfers.

He caught massive heat from the media and players about a fish camp t shirt.

He’s gotten to make millions coaching at his alma mater for 20 years and is their most storied coach in their history.

If he was really bothered by the lack of a NC he would have moved on in the past thus I just don’t see what’s in it for him at this point.

He's exactly the type to have a totally shite season then blame kids wanting NIL for making him lose love for the game.

LSU fans want him to take the LSU HC job when BK is gone.

They shouldn't, but the fact that OK State is suddenly one of the top Big 12 programs could add enough pressure that they feel the need to change. Now in a conference without Texas/OU, there's an opportunity for everyone to step up. I think Gundy will do fine going forward, but a surprise retirement wouldn't shock me

My Ok State buddy said the usual day after podcast is delayed until tomorrrow because of sources saying something big will happen today

Could be BS. Gundy won’t be fired but may be allowed to leave on his terms. They did just play for the B12 championship

I suspect "big" will be firing coordinators.

Hopefully never. Gundy built that program and gave them a few of their best seasons ever. And he’s a rare truth teller in the coaching profession. What you see is what you get.
