Regardless of who is hired what is the minimum accepted number of losses for the 2022 season? We will have a lot of talent returning plus experience at quarterback so would more than three losses be acceptable or would that put him on the hot seat?

We don't yet know who will be returning. The floor could be on the floor.

Fortunately, Florida State is even a bigger dumpster fire than our program right now.

If I had to place an expectation on the season I would say 4 losses out of Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and A&M, depending on who returns.

Would depend on who leaves LSU. Possibility we can have a lot of players enter the portal including starters. Based on the rumors, you're going to see a lot of young players and even starters in the portal. If that happens I'm not going to have any expectations because it would be closer to a full rebuild from the ground up on the program.

The floor is the 2021 season's production.
i.e. The next HC will have his work cut out for him, but should be able to do better than O.

Wayyy to early with all the variables. We have no idea who the coach or staff in place will be, what players are staying or leaving, how our recruiting class will look.

I’d say we’ll likely be better than this year? No idea otherwise, ask again in February

We could be really good or really bad again next year. All depends on who the new coach/staff is, how well we retain our roster from transfers/unexpected draft entrances, and how we finish up in recruiting. If we can prevent all of our top players from hitting the portal, hire a real good coach, and finish strong in this in state talent rich recruiting class then we could be really damn good in year 1 under new regime. If those things go in the opposite direction we could be looking at a repeat of the last 2 years.

The floor is 16 wins.

Then tRant will complain about Woody not scheduling an extra game to get us a chance to win 16 games.

Probably. But would losing 4 or 5 games in 2022 be really bad enough to put the new coach on the hot seat for the 2023 season. I'm not talking about firing him after the 2022 season (unless maybe 5 regular season losses and a bowl game loss).

The new hire is not even made and you’re already looking to put him on the hot seat for year one.
Gotta love these people
