So you fault him for not turning a program around in year 1 at the age of 32, don't credit him with winning 11 games in 2024 and making the playoffs, and you're giving him an extra loss for 2025. I guess if you're just making shite up, you can believe anything you want.

The bottom line with Dillingham is that he's very very young with 3 years of P4 head coaching experience, and another 5 years of P4 OC experience. That amount of high quality experience at such a young age is extremely rare, and he's done quite well on top of that.

I don’t know that he is or not, but he should be interviewed if you’re actually considering dilllngham.
He’s one of the most elite recruiters in history and has been a part of a championship culture.

You quite literally said he was less than 8 hours ago

He also has a season and a half calling plays and got demoted from doing so

He’s an offensive guru, young, smart, assisted at Auburn, Florida State, and Memphis, and Oregon with Lanning. Not bad jobs. He reminds me of a young Saban, but offensive minded. I would not mind him.

4 of those 5 years as an OC he did not call plays. So he actually has 1 year of OC experience

I understand all of what y’all are saying but how can you look at his current red zone efficiency, team discipline (penalties), and offensive stats and think oh hell yeah that’s the dude for LSU.

The appeal?

Though I’d prefer Lane- getting someone like Dilly for ~9M/6-7 years is more appealing (to me) than Lane 14M/8-10 years. Putting that 5 million to NIL.

He’s been a success everywhere he has been. First year head coaches have trusted him to run their offense like Norvell and Lanning. Malzahn trusted him. Kenny is the next big thing.

I’m not knighting for hartline.
Some moron asked repeatedly for a list of people who could be candidates and I listed hartline as one (of many) in the if you go current coordinator route.

A lot goes into a coaching hire - the ability to build an elite staff is huge. Guys like dillingham do not have the connections to elite championship programs or the years behind their name to attract some of those elite assistants. Not to mention, his teams are overrated. Like I said.

Some of you are so stupid idk how you remember to breathe

You can’t say Dillingham isn’t a serious candidate “because he’s not ready” and then suggest Hartline is a serious candidate. This isn’t that complicated… well for anyone that isn’t a slack jawed moron at least

I specifically said if you go the coordinator route, which is common.
See Kirby smart, see Dan Lanning etc.
I’m not saying that’s what I want, because it’s not what I prefer.
But there is a good track record for coordinators who are seasoned under elite coaches at elite programs.

Once again - please god go read and think about things before commenting

Les Miles record was 28-21 at Oklahoma State before coming to LSU. His best season was 9-4 with a loss in the Cotton Bowl. His best finish was 3rd in the south division. He worked well for LSU.

Dillingham is a young coach who has been coaching since he was 17. When he was at Memphis, the offenses were Top 5 in country. At Auburn he coached Bo Nix become SEC Freshman of the Year. He has been recognized at one of the top recruiters in the country.

I think he can be successful at LSU with resources and getting QBs to come play for him. The biggest question is : will he leave his alma mater? He grew up in Arizona and always wanted to play/coach for Arizona State and he is living that dream.
