8-4 would probably be the expectation for a $9.5m coach’s first year taking over the circus

$10.5m just for completing the year and being bowl eligible. Expectations are to come in and compete immediately with the new recruiting rules.

First let’s get some staff in here. Not bringing any of his ND staff over hurts as far as recruiting goes. Precious days of recruiting are being wasted vetting coordinators and other assistants.

7 wins. People on this board are underestimating how bare this roster is. The depth is non existent.

Divine intervention.

Did you see the oline? I’m surprised Johnson made it out the game alive

9-3

10+ wins following year (NY6)
11+ wins following year after (CFP appearance)
Year 4 another CFP and natty.

Pretty conservative but should be our goal always.

I always include the bowl game ….

9-4 ….

Let’s see how well Coach can remake/ rebuild this roster with 1 signing class. And let’s see what kind of staff he’s able to build.

Our roster is depleted, especially the lines, and there’s no telling how many kids will transfer out after Spring ball.

At least we have a veteran QB next year.

The record shouldn't really be TOO concerning to lsu fans in year 1. Yeah a losing or even .500 record would probably be a red flag, but we are going into a process now with a detail obsessed coach.

I think a lot of our fans overrate our talent to a degree. Yes we do still have some studs, but O's crao culture of quitting on your brothers has left us little depth. A few position groups, namely o line and te, are going to need portal help just to be adequate. This is year 1 of a process, but I do expect the team to show improvement and show signs of what's to come. Woody made this move so lsu is in a better position 3 years down the road and I think we absolutely will be

That’s a tough stretch. Could easily pick up two losses before bama in there. 9-3 is probably most realistic ceiling barring marked improvement from QB/OL/finding a new running back. Floor for this program should never exceed 8, ever. Sorry, too much money and talent to be otherwise

If we don’t fix the NIL issue that we currently have, however, it could cause that to change

9-3 should be the realistic expectation for next year with 10-2 being an optimistic one. Anything more is gravy

This rebuild isn’t just about talent. It’s about culture. I expect a purge. People need to have patience.

Saban went 6-6 his first year at Bama and they were more talented going into that season than 6-6.

It depends on his ability to bring in better lineman immediately.

If he can do that, 9-3, maybe 10-2.

Just checked the Chinese calendar and next year is the Year of the Tiger. So...there's that.

About 9-3 or 8-4 which is about the same record as Arnsparger and Saban in their first years. I expect to see a more disciplined team that gets better as the season goes on.

I wouldn’t worry about wins & losses right now. I’m more concerned with culture change and development. Keeping kids around for longer. That’s been our recipe for success & recipe for failure. Plus watching coaching adjustments during the game etc…
