I have been to South Bend.... I've seen their football facilities......AND FOR SUCH A STORIED PROGRAM THEY ARE PATHETIC. I can't begin to imagine the successes he will have recruiting wise with the best facilities in college football, the abundance of talent in Louisiana and his connections in the mid-west.

SO PERK #1 IN KELLY'S MIND IS FACILITIES!

the ability to recruit 5 star talent in state/region

he is a great recruiter but he hates it and at ND it is obligation to recruit nationally

Do you realize the national exposure this give LSU to steal Notre dame coach? It’s huge!!LSU is now a blue blood program.

Well many of these "dumb" players at LSU go on to the NFL and become millionaires.

Que Randy Newman's Rednecks

quote:

And college men from LSU
Went in dumb, come out dumb too
Hustlin' 'round Atlanta in their alligator shoes
Gettin' drunk every weekend at the barbecues
And they're keepin' the n*****s down

ND considers athletics an afterthought. They refuse to place them above academics in any way. It’s impossible to compare their “perks” to anyone in the SEC outside if Vandy. Essentially , they are Vandy with the most tradition in college football. Instead of building a new stadium , they built a facade around it bc they didn’t want to spend more on athletic infrastructure than academic.
