Saban got beat by uab and ulm while coaching at lsu and Bama.

Both of those games were in Saban's first year at said school. He improved every year after at both schools. Herman is in his second year and is apparently becoming a worse head coach as time goes on.

And neither LSU or Bama was ranked in or near the top 10 when they lost to those teams. Going by rankings at the time of said transgressions I would say Herman's losses were much worse.

What were they - #6 when they lost to Navy and #11 when they got stomped by SMU?

The issue here is when Aranda leaves or he doesn't have all this talent what does he do? I think it goes down hill quickly for him in that scenario.

Wow, you are right. I finally see it. LSU should in no way hire CEO. It is possible the bullshite theory you dreamed up may come true. What will the LSU program possibly do to survive when it all goes downhill for O in your BS scenario.

Nope, don't want him if that is going to happen.

am hoping that they interviewed or spoke with several guys last year. Then, this year they spoke to those candidates again before firing miles to gauge their interest. Who knows though. All i know is that if Alleva misses on this hire his arse will be the next in the unemployment line.

This.

How about that amazing wyoming loss? 14-24 at home. Those amazing wyoming cowboys with their 4-7 record and 2-6 record in conference. Allow me to laugh at your selective memory.

He picked the worst possible example to try and make his point. So let me laugh at your ignorance of the discussion you jumped into.

I believe Bill Snyder will retire this year at Kansas State and O would be seriously considered for that job.

I could actually see that, or Miles maybe.

Not unless they strike out on several other people who have better resumes. If that's the case sure, but if Herman, Fisher, Kelly, Fleck, Petrino are available it doesn't matter how O ends the year. One of them should get it over O. I have all those guys above O at this point and time. The only way to sway me would be for O to win out and get to the playoffs. The others would have to fall pretty far off the cliff too. Is it possible? Sure. I just think both of those things falling in to place for him is a long shot.

Lol so Saban wasn't prepared in his first year? That's ridiculous.

Ranking is a ridiculous measurement. Who do you think has the most parity in talent?

Houston vs SMU or...
2007 BAMA vs ULM

???? Quit making excuses.

We get it. You hate Herman. Why don't you say something constructive and enlighten us on who you would take as your top 3 choices, if Herman is not in there.

Okay..bad example. But surely you get the Damn point? Out of 25 loses in 3 seasons, there multiple teams he had more talent than. Honestly though, when you lose 70% of your games, 'bad losses' don't even really make much difference at that point.

So Herman wasn't prepared his second year against SMU? That is down right freaking scary. But yet people still want the guy to lead LSU. That is what is ridiculous.

Seriously, aren't you the guy that spewing total bullshite yesterday. Even going so far as to say Ohio State missed Herman as OC, when a quick check showed they didn't miss him at all and may have even prospered without him. At least you are consistent and are still spewing bullshite today.

"Ranking is a ridiculous measurement" - Ha Ha Ha !!! Classic man.

I'm not making excuses dumbass, you are. Maybe you do believe all the stupid lies and bullshite you posted yesterday if you can't even figure out who between the two of us is making excuses for a coach in this thread.

You are the one who brought up Saban like a ranked fricking 2 for 3 Herman in his second year should be compared to Nick and what he did in his first year with unranked teams. I may not be the most astute football fan, but I can tell you that Tom Herman should not be compared to Nick Saban at this point in his career. Herman's two losses to Navy and SMU when his team was ranked #6 and #11 is pitiful anyway you slice, dice or try to flip it.

If I have said anything about Coach O it is because what he is currently doing at LSU. I was glad O sucked at Ole Miss and wish he had lost more games than he did. But that was what 10 years ago and it is now 2016. That was Ole Miss and he is now at LSU. Lot of shite has changed since then.

I'm not advocating LSU hire O right now and maybe they should never hire him. But, there are things that O can accomplish this season that should make LSU take a hard look at the possibility of hiring him. Going 2 of 3 against Navy, Tulsa and SMU would be immediate disqualification for O and should be for Herman also.

And if O has to beat Bama to get the LSU job then Herman with his top 10 ranked team should have had to beat Navy and SMU to get the LSU job. He didn't.

I don't hate Herman. I have no feelings towards him what-so-ever. I think him kissing 80 something grown men every Saturday is weird as hell.

But, what I hate is the fact that after falling flat on his face against three un-ranked teams in a row that idiots on this board would still want him to lead the LSU program. Hopefully, the LSU administration is smarter than your average Tiger Dropping's Herman Homer.

As stated earlier I'm not on the CEO band wagon but I think it is ridiculous that he has to win out, beat Bama or both to even get a sniff at the job. And here some guy at a program that plays in "American" conference in his second year can lose to SMU and still be considered a favorite for the job.
