Read my assessment below on herman, and let me know what part sounds so ludicrous or makes you think i am Herman or bust.

You're so short sighted on Coach O you're gonna ignore his Ole miss record. Lmao. Just fyi herman has as many wins as O in his TWO YEARS as HC. So yeah. I am not sold on O. What a shocker i am not sold on a guy who went 10-25 when given his own program. Even with his interim jobs factored in he is 19-27. I would say average coach is not a stretch of the imagination.

any upside to O.

O's upside are things like motivator, recruiter, let's his coordinators work on their side of the ball. I get it, but that also can be said about several other candidates, including Herman and Jimbo. What other upside am i missing?

If he has so much upside then which one of those teams i posted will we have to outbid to keep him?

I never understood the Tom love from the beginning. But the guy losing 2 of his last 3 has brought the weirdest contingent of so-called LSU fans imaginable to the forefront.

I love this board for the intelligent LSU talk and the ribbing that takes place sometimes. For someone who has been away from home for so many years, it is a nice alternative to being back home talking LSU. I wish we could keep the political digs out of the conversation though (seems we have a board for that).

This statement proves how little you truly understand about what makes a good head coach. If you NEVER understood why people liked Herman then you're just blind.

Who has more overall time in big powerhouse programs? Who has more recruiting experience in the same programs? Who has had more time to learn from many different big time head and position coaches? How has the maturity to know, understand, and work around his shortcomings? How may have the better chance to set arrogance aside and understand when players and other coaches have a better answer?

Well O has a terrible HC record in those programs. To answer, Jimbo is on par with O. Jimbo is also 73-16 as HC compared to a 10-25 O.

Jimbo's classes are in top 5 almost every year and Herman is good at recruiting in Texas.

Jimbo and Herman both have learned under great HCs and position coaches.

All great coaches do this. This isn't an exclusive O trait. For most great coaches it doesn't take 3 years and a 10-25 record and a firing to figure it out.

Who are you referring to? Miles is the only one i can think of who doesn't work with his coordinators to better the team.

All referring to O.

I just remember one can't miss up and comer from a smaller university. Great credentials, recruiter, great pedigree, knows the game, and can turn LSU around. He sure did that.

His name is Curly Hallman.

Oh shite. Now you done it. You stole his or her stitch. I was going to tell her last night I wasn't her parent or teacher. That they needed to do research or try to think for herself. She tries to end every post with a fricking question. I aint her fricking momma.

Herman lost to SMU. Actually NO, Herman got his arse kicked by SMU. He sucks and has no business being mentioned as a future LSU head coach.

OK. So Herman is out for you. You want to take O over Jimbo too?

Wtf are you even talking about? I just answered all of those questions and posed several of my own. While it may pain you to have to answer a question, it's called having a discussion. You obviously don't know how to do that.

You just proved how dumb you truly are thanks. Why don't you do a little research as to great HCs who lost to lesser teams, or is that too much thinking for you?

Btw, I'm a dude, but i guess your homophobia and misogyny made you think you were being clever/insulting by trying to call me a girl. You should be happy i am a dude. You would probably kill yourself if you found out a girl can run circles around you when discussing football and coaches.

I think that's going overboard. Getting interviewed & actually getting a job are two different things. How hot is Bielema's seat? I could see Arky at least interviewing O.

You never have answered the main question. What is with the Herman love? You related? His agent? Family?

WTF is your obsession with Herman that would make you start a thread trying to knock Ed Orgeron?

Not to mention the CEO bad mouthing about his Ole Miss tenure and comparing him to Tom who took over a winning team.

Honestly, if you answer truthfully I will leave you alone. I just don't get the obsession.

That would be an interesting job for him. I would be curious to see, if he went to Arky, how he would do.

Do you think they would be willing to spend big bucks to get him the top level coordinators he would likely want? I see O's road to success much more difficult if they aren't going to spend the money on great coordinators.

It's not an obsession. I have referenced Tom Herman's overall body of work to you several times yet you have not left me alone.

I created this thread to get an honest opinion from people (our fans and fans from other teams who are looking for a new HC) on if they would give O a look. If no one else is giving him looks or bidding on his services why is everyone so sold on him here? You don't see that as somewhat concerning?

If you consider bad mouthing stating that his record at ole miss was bad and should be considered in his resume, yeah i did that. I try to look at a coaches entire body of work instead of 3 games.

I just don't get the obsession.

It's not an obsession it's a cry of reason. Look at his overall body of work. It's impressive given the opportunities he has had. Did he drop some games he should have won? Absolutely. It's not encouraging to see that for sure, but you're trying to say he is a garbage coach because of it. That's the ridiculous part of all of this.

What cherry pickings are you referring to? The only thing I have posted about Coach O is that in the three games he has coached at LSU they have outscored their opponents 73-7 in the second half.

So he's done what any other coach should be doing with a loaded stable of talent.

This is what everyone predicted Miles to do before the season started, and now all of a sudden, this is just a monumental achievement.

EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE said LSU was the most talented team in the country this year. They said that you could flip a coin with Bama. And not only the most talented, but the most experienced talent.

LSU beat up a crippled team last night like they should have. Miles has given you such low expectations that people just want to hand the HC job over to a DL coach, and I've read where fans want to make Esminger the OC.

That's extremely stupid.

Interview everyone that would like to interview and let the chips fall where they may.

If it's Herman, O, Fisher, Fleck, etc.

But people advocating turning over the keys to the LSU program just because he's beating teams any average coach should beat with the amount of talent that is on hand at LSU is just silly.

Because make no mistake, next year you are going to need a coach who can outscheme other coaches when a lot of this talent heads to the NFL and LSU is in a rebuild year.
