What names are we hearing for the oc and pgc (if we hire one) so far.

I mean, you would think by looking on here that we were only hiring a DC. Theres been very little talk about oc candidates. Are our"insiders" hearing anything? I trust voltiger and tigerbaitlawyer, have they said anything?
Freeman, mason,or Nielsen seem to be the top guys and should be guaranteed interviews if interested. I know that theres smoke out there that we would have to convince mason because of the interest hes getting from other p5 programs.

Callaway for PGC seems to be the recurring prediction on here. I assume the future OC will have a say in the PGC hire though so they may wait to find the right OC prior to making Callaway official.
For OC the only thing I have read is that O reached out to Brady and he recommended 3 people in the NFL that he should interview. Read that on this board so take it for what it's worth.
I personally want O to take a chance on someone like Joe Bleymaier from the Chiefs.

Passing game coordinator is a made up position to make someone happy so you can keep them on staff. Hopefully we hire an OC who doesn’t need one.

If we hire an established, experienced OC, then just name Callaway the QB Coach. That would be his primary role in that position, no matter the title.

Bleymaier would be a nice add I think!

I worry about the NFL guys stepping into the college game. I am sure they are great minds but they are dealing with people who are paid to play football full time and have no limit to their coaching contact time.
In college you have to recruit, recruit, recruit. You have a fixed number of hours of contact time with players so therefore your schemes have to be digestable.
Also, as soon as they can they go back to the NFL.

Not getting the downvotes on asking about our open oc and pgc jobs ,on the freaking coaching changes board.
It never fails, ask a question, get a downvote.
But I dont really care ,just find it incredible really.
There are more schools that have a pgc then dont. A lot of schools have a rgc. Weve always had a pgc under miles and o. Remember sullivan

His job prior to being with Chiefs was at the University of Colorado. I have no clue about his recruiting ability though.

I have it on good authority that Coach Russ has formally interviewed and is getting serious consideration for OC. There are several very influential people around the program backing him.

As quickly as they got rid of Linehan I wouldn’t be surprised if Calloway was on the headset to E during those last couple games. And if he is indeed who they think the future is I’m all for them making him the OC! I don’t need a proven name like Malzhon if you think Calloway is the guy go with him, save some money in the process, and spend big $ on your DC!

I rewatched the last game and RC was standing beside CEO for a lot of the time. On most of the sideline shots he was right there.

He always stood behind orgeron. He took the Munoz spot. Last game he had a headset and seemed more active.

Munoz gonna be the PGC. So with that said I’d imagine they’re gonna make Calloway OC.

Just wondering how many here are just doing Google searches and throwing out random names.

7 out of the 16 year period of Miles and O as HC, LSU has had an official passing game coordinator titled coach, with Jerry Sullivan being the de facto PGC in 2017.

What a checkered list. Only two worth a hoot. We were better off with the spot being vacant with a couple of those hires.

A successful coordinator at LSU is almost always going to end with them either taking a HC position or going to the NFL.
Your point about recruiting is fair, but I want the guy who is at risk of getting plucked away for a promotion.

7 of 16 is not “always under Miles & O”.
