What makes Lincoln Riley better than Dave Aranda or Matt Campbell?

I feel like Aranda and Campbell are both more complete head coaches who have produced more complete football teams with less talent to work with than OU. They would both be cheaper than Lincoln Riley as well.

I just want someone to convince me that Riley is clearly better than every other candidate and that we should throw the whole house at him.

Name an available coach with 3 cfps under their belt and under 40.

For the record I’m a big Aranda guy

1. I believe if there was a ‘Coach Draft’ that Lincoln would go before either of those.

B. I do not give a damn about who is paid what. I don’t actually pay that check. So, Dave costing less is irrelevant

Nothing. And that's the head scratcher. People are acting like he's the second coming of Saban.

O beat him. Do you REALLY think O is a better HC than Riley? Really?

The man has an 80% winning percentage. He's an offensive guy and needs a solid DC, but Saban for instance is the opposite...defensive guru but finds good OC's year in and year out. And for the life of me, I simply don't understand the effort some of you put in trying to save LSU money. "would be cheaper than Lincoln Riley" is freaking meaningless.

I don’t care.

As I said how many available coaches have coached in three CFPs AND under 40?

One could assume that Riley is just continuing the tradition of excellence left by Bob Stoops, but the Sooners experienced a big dip in offensive output in the mid-2010s. Oklahoma ranked 36th in the nation in EPA per play in 2014 while a team of pirates from East Carolina, led by none other than Lincoln Riley, finished 21st.

Riley was hired as the Sooners' offensive coordinator in 2015, and East Carolina fell to 65th in EPA per play while Oklahoma rose to ninth.

From 2016 to the present day, this is the No. 1 offense in college football by far. Their 0.254 EPA per play mark bests second-place Alabama (0.203) by a relatively significant margin.

And Hugh Freeze outcoached and beat Bama while at Ole Miss.

I'd still take Saban over Hugh.

He has coached for 5 seasons . 3 of those seasons has resulted in play off appearances. He has won the big 12 4 years straight and will probably make it 5. He has a 54-9 record.

Riley is one of the biggest names in college football. He's already proven that he can recruit at an elite level on offense, and LSU is known for defense and can eventually get that back on name alone..

Our problems for the past 10-15 years have been offense, outside of 2018 and 2019. You bring in an offensive minded coach that is also a good QB coach and we never have to worry about our offense being 2020 and 2021 bad.

Splitting hairs.

LSU hires Riley or Aranda, and we are in really good shape. All this program needs is a competent head coach.

...while producing 2 Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks and at a power 5 program. How is he not qualified again???

I'm sold on Campbell. Riley is the glamour hire, but there's nothing not to like about Campbell.
