What it took to get rid of Crowton

Apparently, not only did Miles have to wait until someone else hired Crowton.
But it had to be a team stupid enough to give him COMPLETE control of the offense and put that in writing. In his contract.
I can't wait to start handicapping in the 2012 season.

So, Crowton is saying that the offensive problems were Miles' fault. Perhaps. But, are we to believe that Miles did not interfere in 2007, Crowton's first year, and he did the next 3 years?

frick Crowton. Les wouldn't have had to even get involved if Gary would've stopped calling plays like a fricking moron. He was CONSTANTLY putting our QBs in bad spots even after they made mistake after mistake. JL should kick Crowton in the nuts after what he made him go through in '08.

the thing i never understood with crowton, is he never made it easy on our QBs. we would either run it with jefferson or spread it out and chuck it with lee. why did we never put lee in the I and pound the rock with him under center? get him into the flow? give him easy play action passes to get a feel for it? give him quick hitches to throw or bubble screens? we'd bring in lee on 2nd or 3rd and long, and give him a 7 step drop and expect in to come in and just dominate. i dont feel like we ever made it easy on either QB
i mean, peyton manning likes to start slow and find a rhythm before he starts carving fools. why did we always just throw JJ/JL to the wolves?

He's an Angry LLAMA. I can't wait to see what our new offense looks like. I would assume it may take a while for everyone to adjust but PLEASE let us line up correctly and at least look like we know what we are doing.

I really like Miles.
I do believe that 2007 was all Crowton. Then it went to hell in a handbasket in 2008, all Crowton.
I think Miles started feeling the heat mid 2009 and started to put his print on the O.........same with 2010.
I wanted Crowton gone. But I do think there is a little smoke behind Miles getting involved, hell we sucked...what else was he supposed to do?

I have never seen more disjointed play calling by any offense than the last 3 years. Most of the time it looked like just random play calls with no philosophy. How many times over the last 3 years did we hear analyst whether it was CBS, ESPN, ABC etc say that LSU had no offensive identity. Was it a running offensive, passing offensive, spread, power, what? What was it? Not even the players knew. Do we really think that RS is not as explosive as we thought, or that T.H. could not get open in space? Does anyone really believe that we had so much talent it was impossible for a good OC to figure out how to use it to our advantage. We have been watching other teams with a lot less talent play great offense. It's time LSU joins the party offensively and it was not going to happen with Crowton.

False. Look at the end of the UT game. JJ up the middle. Then we have mass confusion subbing in players. What does MIles do-throw his headset off and call a ridley run. Miles reaction+call indicates that Crowton was in complete control over at least that drive. Now Miles may have done stuff earlier in the game or elsewhere in the season but that drive told me Crowton was failing on his own merits and not solely because Miles "meddling". Whether Miles tinkering helped or hurt is another question but Crowton alone wouldnt have been significantly better. Heck just look at his qb development. Our qbs regression to me is the sole thing that stands out about crowtons coaching ability.

Hey, it's what my understanding of the situation was. Everyone that year knew the talent on the team ad that they had a chance at a special season, even the new OC. The only thing that was new that year were elements of the Pistol Formation. Though, I could be wrong.

I have never known what went on between Les and GC. Now finally some tangible evidence. Not conclusive but apparently Les did have some control over the play calling.

All of tiger stadium should be able to have a shot also for what he made us go through.
