Last year they finished 9th in the 247 rankings. They are currently 4th with this year's class. And that's at a time were ND is LONG from the national draw it was for many decades prior to the 2000's. The school doesn't exactly sit in a hotbed of talent, so they must recruit nationally. He's recruited better than Oklahoma over the last 2 seasons...and people are still melting over not getting their HC to come to LSU.

Kelly has a polarizing personality at a school that is probably the most polarizing in the country (many either love or hate ND). But his resume is as strong as ANYONE not named Saban or Dabo. You don't win than many games...at that many places without being able to coach. Perhaps his thought is "I'm VERY close to the top of the mountain. I just can't get the horses at ND to compete with Alabama, Clemson, UGA, Ohio St. But there is a school in Louisiana that has proven time and time again it CAN."

I think a lot of this has to do with the conference or lack there of they play in. We have seen what Kelley can do against top teams, he gets boat raced every playoffs.

I think Campbell is a not an option. His buyout is 28million. No way we pay that AND pay Os buyout at 17 mill ANDDDD pay the new coach 100 million over 8 years. No way that happens.
