What has LSU lost by not hiring Orgeron?

Nothing really.
Les will hire another DL coach who will want to be here.
And...he has the money to spend to hire just about anybody he wants.

I'm relieved he isn't coming. I don't think it would have been a long term stable hire.

He woulda been gone after like 1 year anyway, this I really don't mind. Chavis will be the real difference maker in the long run.

1. Screaming and getting red in the face is overrated and only gets results when used sparingly. . .ask anyone who grew up with a screamer for a parent or coach. You build up a tolerance to it. What's always most important is knowing your stuff and how to effectively get others to do what you know needs to be done. That comes in all forms.
2. We already have some of the best recruiters in the game on the sideline.
O would have been another horse in the stables. . .don't get me wrong, he would have been nice to have. . .but he wasn't going to make or break the next few years of LSU football.

This is true.
O wasn't a crucial hire but it would have been nice.
The Kiffins schooled Les in the art of closing a deal and slamming it shut, though.
That's disappointing.

I sure hope they go out and get two great coaches that can also recruit. We need a knockout recruiter on the defensive side of the ball, for defensive prospects...

wasn't the backup plan brick haley from chicago bears. Assuming he can recruit, I say its a wash but I may be mistaken can someone confirm about haley for me........

Yall go from predicting the best staff in the SEC with Chavis and Orgeron to saying Orgeron cant coach. Which is it. The man can obviously coach, he has people flying to his house to persuade him, but yall get on here bashing the man. Truth is LSU would have been tickled pink to have him.

If I want a "beat a wife" I only have to go down the road. Dude is hated by most people who have been around him for more than a day. I don't know what his recruiting tactics are, but we seem to be doing fine as we are. I'll take it just fine. Just look at him.

All day long knowing full and well he was coming to LSU I kept thinking we made a deal with the devil and it would only benefit LSU in the short term.
He's a D-Line coach for crying out loud - you can find one with a hyper attitude for a lot less than he was making. Far as recruiting goes - I don't see LSU having a big recruiting problem where this guy is a "must have"

O would have been a great hire. However, I think Brick Haley is a better coaching hire for the d-line. Orgeron is a better recruiter and may be better package, but Haley is the better d-line coach. I am upset that we didn't get O, but UT definitely needed O more than us. They were going to pull out all of the stops to get him.
