Coach O also went from illiterate shrimp boat captain to an elite defensive mind in that same span of time.

It’s been a weird year for the CCB.

I guess Sean Payton would be overrated too, as he’s had significant drop off since Brees retired and Winston went down.

Newsflash: If you don’t have a competent QB and your best weapon (McCaffery) goes down it’s not easy to scheme. Brady gets the axe this time, next failing it’s Rhule’s head.

With Kelly overseeing the offense and helping, I would be all for Brady coming back. I just didn't want him with like, say, Aranda.

Burrow went from solid to 2018 to the GOAT in 2019. It wasn't JUST Brady but he obviously had a lot to do with it.

But the question a lot of people have is what would be the meaningful difference had we hired, say, Jeff Lebby, instead.

The fact that we are debating whether Brady should be the OC of LSU is insane to me.

I don't care what people do in the pros. The last time he was on campus at LSU, he did amazing things.

Lane didn't do well in the pros either and he is an accredited college offensive guru who just won 10 games at Ole Miss.

The guy is 32.

Just wondering why? Other than getting fired from Carolina, did I miss something

Its the ULL,(disguised in P&G),fans on this board trying to sow seeds of doubt!
They want Ole Billy Boy to get him.

What he did with the WRs alone was pretty remarkable. They had the talent but not the consistency. Then they show up in '19 catching everything in sight.

It's interesting how Ensminger received no credit from fans at the time but now he was the guy who made it work. And now Brady is being compared to Bo Pelini?

I am not advocating for him as OC, but god damn over the last few days he’s gone from beloved to hated.

It’s weird.

Does anyone here think Steve Ensminger would still have his job if he was hired as OC of the Panthers two years ago?

The negative post around Brady are aimed at the people wanting him to be hired as OC at LSU. None of this matters since Kelly will never hire him for that role.

Does anyone here think Brady would still be wanted to be retained by Kelly if he had remained at LSU as OC? Do really think he would saved O's job?

Other coaches are good too, and now that have three years are game tape of Joe Brady's offense. So that's part of it.

To get fired in mid-season, however, would seem to point to some personal issue where the Carolina folks no longer wanted him around.

If the offense performed the way they did the last two years… no

If they performed like they did in 2019… yes it would have saved O’s job

It’s NFL - points more toward a head coach making a change to save their own skin vs any other reason. Happens every year somewhere

- Why did that offense not have near the success under Ensminger in 18 or 20?

In 2018 Burrow took time to get his act together, Chase and Marshall were rookies and Brady wasn’t here yet. Moss was injured. Clyde wasn’t starting.

In 2020 we lost Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Moss, Clyde, Brady, and O was living the high life.

Brady was a key player in 2019, but certainly not the only player. If he wasn’t brought in to help upgrade the passing game and to coach WRs someone else would gave been. I doubt they could have done as well as Brady, but they wouldn’t have done nothing.
The chemistry between SE and Brady was excellent. That can’t be overlooked either. Each accepted their role and the results of their efforts and the player’s efforts were historic and probably will never be duplicated.

Kirby Smart said he knew what was coming, but because of the versatility of our players you could not set the D to stop it. Our players were so flexible that you couldn’t call a D to stop a certain ad in package. It was one big package that seldom changed with a trigger man to run it right.
