Wouldn't be upset. He has a pretty expensive buyout I think. And he might be happy where he is at now

Don't think many would be opposed to it, but unlikely that he pulls a Kiffin and leaves VT after 1 season.

The deal with him taking over after Beamer was in the works for awhile. He isn't going to leave after a year.

Would take him but I don't even consider him as an option since he has been at Va Tech for only a year.

I agree.
I would not object at all, and would love bending Tech over like that, if he did come.

Some of you guys talk about these success stories at mid-majors like they are such rarities. Memphis was terrible under Larry Porter, but they're not as bad of a program as you make them out to be.
Fuente had two losing seasons and was only 26-23 overall. He did manage to go 19-6 during his last two years.
Tommy West went 24-13 during a three-year run at Memphis from 2003-2005.
Plus, Fuente's replacement is currently 5-3.
I'd say that Fuente is a poor man's Tom Herman for the moment. His track record is more impressive than Fleck for me, but Herman still has more skins on the wall than either coach.
