i think recruiting ability is a necessity. Whether it's due to records, NC's won , Conference championships, A coach O appproach , a good ole boy like personality , players in the pros , whatever makes a good recruiter accomplish his job. I would take it over a defensive genius , or an offensive genius. Just my take.

Great organizer. Plus you have to have all the other things necessary to be a highly successful coach. Recruiting, character, toughness, for example.

Elite or at least solid results on one side of the ball. I want to go to sleep at night knowing my team will excel at the very least on offense or defense every game. Then you hope whatever deficiency you have is filled by a solid coordinator.

A record of turning programs around.
The head coach can hire recruiters and coordinators.

HIGH POWER OFFENSE

+

ABILITY TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS

tired of going against offensive coaches that are able to make offensive adjustments and we are no able to. Joe Bradys biggest attribute was his ability to see what they we doing to take something away and attacking off of that. That has been lacking! Ready for a head coach that will stand on the side lines and out think the Defense.

Someone who can recruit and develop QBs at a high level. A QB whisperer. All the elite teams have elite QB play. Think back to 2019. Who were the QBs for the 4 playoff teams? Burrow, Lawrence, Fields, and Hurts. All of them are playing on Sunday, and all of them have started on Sunday at different times.

If we had elite QB play this year, with everything else staying the same, we win the Alabama and Arkansas game no doubt. There’s probably more we would have won.

So who is the coach that has the best chance of bringing us elite QB play every year? Mr Lincoln Riley. That is why SW is waiting on him, depending on who you believe. The guy to get is Riley, and no one is a close 2nd.

The game has changed. Offenses drive the game now and offense wins championships. Look no further than 2019 with our elite offense and less than elite defense

Nevermind having elite players versus a coach who instills an underdog mentality that promotes players playing with some heart and grit week after week.

This is how athletes should excel: Sterlington Championship

There are a lot of good responses here. I say overall someone who could lead the team to be in contention for the playoffs every year. Someone who can recruit but also hit the portal running and coach them up quick!

Number one for me is being detail oriented. Need someone that is obsessed with details. It would be welcomed after what we've dealt with in the last 2 coaches.
