Jimbo would be succesful most places but good luck recruiting the lines that he would want for his scheme consistently there. Texas high school football is soft.

I wouldn't say it's soft, but the spread has definitely taken over the high school football landscape.
5 of the top 50 OL in this year's class are from Texas (3 tackles and 2 guards).

No way Jimbo wants in the West if is not a Bama or LSU.

All this was said last year when LSU was willing to open up the checkbook. And he decided to stay put.
What a difference a year makes. FSU fans would argue with any LSU fan and didn't want him to leave last year.
Now they can't wait to get rid of him.

and if he stays and has the bounce back year that FSU will inevitably have, they will all be back to talking about how theres no chance that he'll leave

What if Jimbo Fisher wants to leave?
That’s different.
If he elects to leave, Fisher’s buyout is the sum of all monies remaining on the contracts of his assistant coaches not retained by the university.
So, for example, if Fisher leaves, and the university retains none of ten coaches each making $500,000 on one-year deals, Fisher would owe the school $5M within 30 days. Given that many assistants are employed on two- or three-year contracts, this number is believed to be around $7M if Fisher were to leave following the 2017 season.
The practical impact of this is that it makes it safer for the school to give bigger raises to assistants, without the fear that it will be stuck paying them (or buying them out) if Fisher were to leave.

None of them do.

No, $10 mil per year (which I don’t believe for a second) for a coach with an NC and several ten win seasons. Teams normally hire on the whole track record,
bullshite. It's what have you done for me lately. Otherwise, LSU doesn't fire Miles, who had won a NC, and had several 10 win seasons, and was only costing 4 mil.

wouldnt say soft, but its def not what it used to be, way to many pre-madonnas.. thats what got mack fired at UT, thats all he recruited. the guys that were the best in their towns.. not what would be the best at the next level.. Strong said it himself that they were soft..

I could see Jimbo doing well at A&M, they certainly have the cash to pull it off. Mental acuity to pull it off is another thing entirely.

It's gonna be much tougher at for him now. He has to hire a new staff and reinvent himself. All while Miami is trending up and fu has a new coach.
He wasted the last 2 years with the sorry staff he hired. Now it's catching up to him.

Ten million dollars per year rumors are started by agents.....
