Since the announcement was made that O will not be back. I think it's reasonable to conclude that Woodward has had his guy for some time and that has been communicated to the recruits, otherwise we would have seen more of a mass exodus by now. Just a thought.

If recruits knew who it was specifically, it would have leaked.

It has not been decided yet. Those high school kids would not be bale to stay quiet.

If the recruits would know, we would all know I think it’s more realistic that they’re just waiting it out before making an important decision.

Because they're waiting to see who the next coach is and get this. They way want to play for LSU.

The kids don't know.

LSU has 9 LA kids committed. LA kids are loyal.

Jake Johnson is Max's brother.

Tolan just visited Tennessee and said

"I could see myself signing with Tennessee in December"

I'm not saying they have been told specifically who the coach will be, but Woodward may have told them just be patient, we have our guy and this is the kind of coach you will be getting.

No way recruits have been told.

This just shows how big a draw LSU is to recruits, especially in state guys. They have grown up loving LSU and dreaming of playing here. They are coming if offered.

On that note, whoever is hired, should see a great base of recruits from the state, year in and year out.

Kids that haven’t committed yet in LA are trending else where though.

Woodward has been in contact with our recruits. He has assured them they will be happy with the next guy.

No the AD is not going to be talking to the recruits.

Closer it gets, this will change.

They're waiting just like everyone else.

Hint: there’s a reason LSU is paying Coach O his full $17 million buyout, and it’s not because LSU couldn’t get around it.

O isn’t “allowed” to stick around the rest of the season; he has to. At least if he wants his money. His most important job assignment right now isn’t the coaching part

You think its reasonable that our AD would be communicating the name of our future coach to a bunch of kids who can't withhold anything from social media?

It has been reported on the daily radio shows that Woodward is very involved in recruiting. I realize he won't tell these kids exactly who he's hiring. If he has been involved with the kids, I could see him telling them to be patient and that we're going to get a top 5 coach.

Hmmm. So more plausible is, if Woodward is contacting them at all, he is stating things in generalities. Regardless of him having "his guy" locked down, he would say something like "you will be very happy with our new coach". But that doesn't mean he has a specific guy, just that he plans to hire a good coach.

But I think it is as likely the guys recruiting them is telling them that the new hire will be a top level coach without giving specifics.

They may have quietly decommitted and just haven’t said anything. We won’t know until the new coach is hired, who will decommit. We will likely lose some and we may pick up new ones due to the new coach. I wouldn’t count on the class as shown now as the one that is signed in December.
