Updates on the Kelly meeting with ND players

That didn’t last long. That was Brian Kelly driving away in the blue Mercedes SUV. He appears to be outta here.
quote:
Jack Swarbrick said Brian Kelly displayed a "certain restlessness" in the last few weeks. He also said Kelly had a few Freudian slips.
"It felt like somebody who might be open to a different opportunity," Swarbrick said.
Kelly's move to LSU didn't happen overnight.
quote:
Looking back, there were signs something was off. For example, the last month of the season, Kelly was FAR more visibly congratulatory and emotional with players, on the field. Also, he seemed far more at ease as if he knew an end was in sight, and he was at peace with it.
quote:
Brian Kelly rode into the sunrise over Notre Dame's campus after briefly meeting with Irish players at the team facility this morning.
The SUV was blue. But in the dim morning light, it almost looked purple.
Fitting.

I'm glad he's our coach, but that was pretty shitty. Make them get up for a 7am meeting to only last about 10-15 minutes

Some of them have 8:00 classes and academics come before football.

Given the situation 10-15 min is just right unless you are looking to be talked out of your decision.

The last thing you want to do as a coach is talk to them for an hour, and the last thing you want as a player is to be talked to for an hour. Decisions were made, it was more to just say goodbye in person.

Yeah for sure.
Hoping that guy gets some player quotes in that thread.

What the hell do you expect him to have to say that would last longer? And what time do you think a lot of college kids start classes?
There is a lot of ignorance packed into such a short post.

Yeah I’m assuming the 7 am meeting is part of the regular team schedule.

Heading to the airport

What, were they supposed to have support group roundtable discussions?
The only arguably shitty thing is him basically popping his head in the door saying “bye y’all” and apparently leaving the program. Really expected him to stick around given the presumed CFP run and the fact they won’t have a game for a month allowing for little conflict of interest for him to hit recruiting trail hard prior to signing day.

The man has a busy schedule. They are already offended becausev he's leaving. I'm sure they were ready to get it over with too

Nah, once a coach is gone they’re gone.
I respect him facing them in person but he needs to step aside and let Freeman get to work.
I’m sure he would have loved to stay but the ND side cant have that.

I don’t feel sorry for any of these players, coaches etc. These players get paid now, they can transfer and leave whenever their feelings get hurt or they don’t get enough playing time or if they miss their mommy! Some of these kids make more money than people go are working at a job every day. I’m sorry your coach made a business decision to chase his own personal dream and make 10 mill a year on top of it. He should be so ashamed of himself for making the same decision they all would make.

You’ve been saying the absolute dumbest, most negative shite for days now. There’s no way you’re an adult, you know that most responsible grown ups wake up at 5 or 6 right? And he’s probably trying to instill that in his team rather than letting them be lazy shitbags who don’t get their day started until 11 AM?
