re: Updates from FootballScoop and Bruce Feldman: Campbell possibly the frontrunner

Why would it be confusing for Campbell over Aranda? I think Aranda has done more than Campbell has in his brief stint. I think what Campbell has done has actually been pretty damn good. It would mainly be an odd move based off Aranda having already been here, having relationships here, and having the respect already down here. That isn’t a knock on Campbell but just a compliment to Aranda.

I think it's Campbell. Rumors on him have been the most consistent, and the timeline adds up if they're wrapping things up this week. ISU's last game is on Friday.
Dude that lost to ULL. Garbage hire. Dude finished one season with 2 losses once. Every other season, its minimum 3 losses a year. What kinda back woods, straight out the meth trailer, crackhead running out a burning building chit is this that he is even being considered as a candidate? SMFH

The fact that people are high on this guy is retarded, in and of itself. So y'all good with at least 3 losses a year?

That little fued y’all had was pretty funny. I almost chimed in, but you were handling.
We might get our guy though.
Matt was always my 1B. It seems like you thought the same.

No shite. Such a lazy take at this point

Is there a less informed national source than Feldman on this hire? Holy shite. At least footballscoop is trying

Well, no stoops and no bill O’Brien.
After thinking about every possible candidate i had those two at the bottom of the list and a big gap before those two
Riley
Aranda
Fickel
Kelly
Napier then
Stoops
O’Brien

These guys are just shooting from the hip and hoping something sticks. All of this is wrong.

Would take Matt Campbell in a heartbeat.

I would be happy with Campbell, Aranda or Napier.
People acting like Woodward being AD automatically means we should expect nothing worse than a top 5 active coach are delusional.
The Jimbo hire was good for A&M, but it required a massive contract to a coach who was struggling in his current job and already trying to leave. Buzz Williams was a solid hire just like Jay Johnson, but the LSU fan base wasn't exactly clamoring for Johnson before he was hired. The Petersen and Mulkey coups were great and opportunistic as regional ties/advantages helped land those coaches.
The common denominator with those hires was timing. Woodward isn't some sorcerer who can make a given coaching candidate fall in love with LSU over their current, comparable program. He doesn't cast spells.
That said, people thinking we'd land a big name before the season ends are clueless. When has that ever happened? And why do people all of a sudden expect it? Woodward's magic powers?

Grasping at straws. Its been comical how all the "cfb insiders" have new lists every day. Woodward has played all them and showed just how little they know

I'd trust sources via Joey Callo and even Joey Gallo before Feldman on this.

I'd take Campbell right now.

Wtf is wrong with Matt cambell , he’s the type of hire we want. No baggage, did more with less and had some really good seasons.
I mean, if a raise isn’t enough to get Riley or jimbo or Brian Kelly then who are you expecting? Aranda maybe? That’s it
Who would you rather have , napier? Cambell is way more qualified

Definitely for the guys talked most around here.
I'd probably go Fickell, then Riley then Campbell, but everyone says Fickell isn't an option at all.
There are wildcard guys like Brian Kelly or someone from the NFL (Urban) I might slot ahead of Campbell. But all in all, I'd be very happy if he is the hire.
