LAst time I checked Ark had surpassed a few SEC teams, LSU and Bama included.

Arkie tied LSU in the SEC standings this year. Finished better than Bama this year. Let's not extrapolate one data point into "surpassed."

I don't believe that just yet but apparently Petrino was the second choice in the past.
Interesting. A beat reporter from a Gainesville newspaper was on a Fayetteville talk show (I didn't catch his name) and he said that he didn't see Petrino leaving Arkansas. There are going to be a lot very disappointed people on here when Petrino stays at Arkansas, especially the LSU fans. I really can't blame you since you see the writing on the wall and they are stuck with Miles.

It is a little late for the Petrino timeline for him to be leaving after the season...but 3 years is about right.

Here is the deal.
Arkansas has had ONE good year. Any talk of dominance, surpassing other schools, etc... is premature. We need to sustain and add to the success we had this year.
We need to win the west and the SECCG. We need to play for and win a championship. Until we do those things we shouldn't be talking.
That being said, I think most people can tell that under Petrino Arkansas is on the right path to accomplish those goals. Will we ever get there? Time will tell. Is Petrino the type of coach that can get us there? Absolutely.
Will he stay at Arkansas and continue building on what he's already established? We'll see. If he doesn't go to FL, then odds are good he will stay here.
