Never listen to ex-players on things like this, unless they have CFB coaching experience.

Playing and knowing football is very different from coaching football. The ability to discern who would be good for team morale vs who will get wins is a skill in itself.

The guys can be as jacked as possible for a coach and not win shite.

Lane doesn’t give a rats azzz about friends. Or what people think about him as a person. I am sure he is fine with his circle and as was pointed out, he will make new ones wherever he lands.

Coaching has always been a cutthroat industry.

Why? He has been very gracious to the football program.

Lots of folks on here always talking about the “money guys” and how us regular fans shouldn’t care about spending money on coaches, but also don’t want guys that have their names on football facility walls to butt in either. We brag about why we may be able to pull Kiffin, because we have a better program with more resources, yet ignore those that contribute significantly to those resources ?

I seem to recall that Tyrann endorsed the Matt House hire. That did not work out.
I would not worry about Lane using LSU as a stepping stone for another job.
I can only think of three head coaches who left without getting fired, Paul Dietzel( took job a Army), Bill Arnsparger (took Fla AD job) and Saban All others ended up getting fired (while Charlie Mac officially retired, he was forced out)
In other words I am not taking Tyrann's concerns seriously.

No, he's not wrong, but the answer is still yes.

Great player but has "loyalty" involved smoking synthetic weed and getting kicked off the football team. Where was your "loyalty" then?

Things were going Mathieu's way in college also, then that weed led him to another girl down the street.
