I think that'd be a great hire for TT.

I just figured TT would just promote the OC. Tuberville should hold out for a better gig IMO.

That would just be a stepping stone job for Tommy to get back to a big time school.

Exactly. If he does well and keeps them a Top 25 program he'll be gone in two years.

Dunno if he should really take the job

TT kinda equals Auburn within their states in some ways... at least in teh sense that Alabama is #1 in Alabama and Texas is #1 in Texas

There is no reason Tuberville should need a stepping stone program. He's earned enough respect to take a big job from the jump. He should hold out for LSU.

I think hes ready to get back in the game,, wait too long and youre yesterdays news,,

Tech is at least a solid BCS team with some upside

take it and lets the chips fall where they may

the risk is Techs,, he has success and leaves

Big 12 with only 2 dominant teams.
fertile recruiting ground in Texas.
Close to home.

What can be better than that? Sorry I'm not one of those who thinks anything but a SEC HC gig is unworthy.

if i was him (or anyone else considering the Texas Tech job), I wouldn't sign a contract unless they agreed to let me get away with murder and still pay me. He should be able to force their hand and make them pay him even if he rapes the AD's daughters and wife.

Of course, I don't see Texas Tech giving anyone that kind of contract. Which is why they'll end up with an unproven head coach.

Texas has a little more talent as a state then Alabama.

did i say something that should be contradicted?

i guess you can argue TT is not the #2 program in Texas with Texas, A&M (potential not production), and TCU (great production recently but most would say an inferior program the the major Big 12 Texas programs) right now... and everyone and their mother recruiting the state

In that sense (and history of success of course) Auburn > TT

I'm curious what's up your arse to be rude on the subject really

less pressure at TT I think. Everyone knows UT will always be tops in Texas. Not the case in Alabama where it's cyclical and the coach is expected to win the state each year. At TT to win the TT/UT game each year is a hope, not an expectation.

I just don't see why Tubbs would jump on that kind of job

I think teh CW is he needs a job where he is the head of the major program in a state to excel. Kinda true of any coach to be sure but given his weakest area is really recruiting I think it's more of an issue with him than many others
