quote:

Sources have told us that Tommy Tuberville (Former Auburn Head Coach) is in the mix to be the new Defensive Coordinator under Richt.

that would be a huge hire for UGA, not sure it happens though.

That has to be a joke, Tubbs is slated to be the TAMU coach after they drown again next season.

I do not believe he would take that job as DC.

I thought they did well this year considering what Fran left for Sherm.

Essentially they were fielding 13th grade team with I believe around 20 freshman seeing playing time. (just a number I heard not sure how accurate)

I would be shocked if Tubs took a coordinator position.

He could land a good HC job if he wants to, potentially a great HC job if the timing was right.

I have been hearing here up north that he is in the mix for the Louisville and/or Viginia job. I would also think, maybe Cincy if Kelly leaves.

I would be very shocked. Didn't I hear somewhere that he wanted a head-coaching job at a BCS school and nothing less?

Tubby said no way he would be a coordinator again at any level on 790 the zone atlanta. He did say he would be a head coach again and that he would be interested in the Notre Dame job.

Tuberville is not going to go to Georgia and answer to Richt. Especially after he caused such an uproar with the Dawg fans by giving Richt pointers after he bumbled the goal line call in Athens several years ago. His ego would not allow it, not to mention he's accomplished enough that he doesn't need to resort to coordinating anywhere.

I doubt it will happen. Yes, it would be interesting to see, but Tubs has been a HC for nearly 15 years. Why would he take a step back? The only reason I might see that he would take a coordinator position is that is less political, (don't have to kiss the President and boosters asses near as much).

I've alway suspected he was bidding his time till the job at the "U" comes open. There is also lots of ppl that say he is the "coach in waiting" (lol) at TAMU. The only way i see him as DC at UGA is if he was out drinking with his buddies one night and lost a bet or something.
