in 5 years or less.

True

If Les and O can do it as below average coaches at other schools, More than a few above average coaches could do it. Post-2000 LSU’s built-in advantages elevate a coach several notches.

How is this provable? If 7 more coaches win Nattys here?

Probably but at least half of those either would not come here (Saban, Sean Payton) or we won’t hire because of their scandals (Urban, Freeze)

Disagree on Les. Les gave up after 2011 IMO, or at least stopped giving full effort. Les led an elite program from 2006-2012

And yes O won it all as a below average coach, but many coaches would have with that 2019 team. Seeing how that team is performing at the NFL level makes it clear that was the greatest team of all time, and I believe O stumbled into that team. I don’t think O could ever win one at LSU with a team like 2007 or 2003

NO and here's why. The program is NOT the same program that Saban handed over to Miles. The Ferrari has become a smart car struggling to ride the road.
The concept that anybody can fix this historic reversal from an all time great team to the bottom is beyond ambitious and close to absurd.

Well that’s just stupid. We are 2 years removed from a National championship and arguably the greatest team in college football history. The program was just as bad the last years under Les. This is an easy program to build based solely on the amount of in state talent.

True....

If O can win one...any competent college coach could win one here as well...maybe just by luck just as O, but yes...there are 10 who could win a Natty in this job with this talent/recruiting base and support.

Restricting myself to people who are in college or could realistically leave the NFL (so really Rhule and Urban) and defining "win a national title" as a play off team that stands a realistic chance of going all the way:

Definite yes:

Saban
Urban Meyer
Rhule
Jimbo
Riley
Dabo
Smart
Kelly
Day

So yes. I didn't even have to go down to "probably" territory. For more realistic people to actually leave their current jobs/come to LSU (I don't think Woodward will frick with Urban for the obvious off the field issues).

Yes:

Rhule
Jimbo
Riley

Probably:
Mark Stoops
Napier
Cristobal
Franklin
Kiffin
Tucker

So probably not, but it's close. LSU is blessed in that there's enough in state talent that we seem to have a "generational amount of talent" every ~5 years, so that really makes things easier.

Why just 10+? Who out there would you eliminate?

According to the baws on the Rant, Orgeron and Miles were the worst coaches in the history of football, wouldn't any other coach be able to win a natty at LSU?
