Horton was waiting around for a staff spot, he had an ucommittable offer on the staff and we landed our 5 star as CBB is an ace recruiter.

And? Ziemba was the only one to pan out.
But the numbers lost don't correlate with an "Ace recruiter" defending his home turf for 4 and 5 stars, yes I'm aware that Dyer had a good year for Auburn.

Yes, but Horton "assisted" Allen and Caldwell in those areas as well, since his dad was such a well liked figure in this state. Horton recruited on his own from Little Rock to Memphis while Allen and Caldwell were on their own in LA and portions of Texas.

We hired the guy as a TE coach, we don't even use TE's. Quit bickering it's a good hire. I'm glad we didn't hire some random no name guy. Solid hire

He didn't have an offer from Arkansas until Petrino was hired as Nutt thought he was going to go into the MLB draft.
The first thing Petrino did when he was hired was drive down to Greenwood, visit with Wilson, and offer him a scholly.
Horton was busy with Herring's staff and bowl prep at that time.
