What have you seen to believe Kiffin has any business in the NFL?
I've seen very little to believe he has any business as a HC at all but he keeps failing upwards

LSU will also have a nasty buyout clause
Not if they want to get him to come here. They might be able to stick in a larger buyout clause in that would be triggered if he left LSU for another coordinator position, with a small buyout if he leaves for a HC job.

this. O isn't going to stick a buyout clause on Kiffin.

Brando called that Les would be fired after an Auburn loss and O would be interim HC in August.
Brando might know more than people want to give him credit.

pretty much agree with everything Brando says here.. and I think houston wants to lock him in, they are tired of the the revolving door there, they want to be a bigger school, problem is there not.. its a launching pad. It is what it is.. He's prob going to LSU but the problem is he is only there for a year, two max.. hard to recruit for that.. I think Kiffen wants that Oregon job or maybe Arizona/Arizona State not sure whats left for him in California. If Im oregon, I go after him or roll the dice on Fleck.

People actually wonder why OCs weren't successful under Miles?

if kif wants to rehabilitate his reputation he goes to lsu for about the same salary as aranda.
Kiffin has already rehabilitated his image. That's why schools are considering him for HC jobs. A move to LSU is a lateral one with no added benefit to Kiffin, other than money. His stock right now (as an OC) is as high as it can get.
I'd love to have him here as OC, but I don't think it's going to happen.

ASU (where Blake Barnett just committed), UCLA, Arizona are all looking like possible next year openings. If he's stuck at a lower job somewhere else, he'll miss out on the opportunity. Just a thought.

Under the close scrutiny if the biggest control monger in the history of the game whose OC's are all successful.

One school. Just one - Houston, which just lost it's 2nd hot, up and coming coach to a larger in-state P5 school.

And getting FULL credit for turning around one of the worst offenses in recent CFB memory.

From an X's and O's standpoint he gets full credit for doing a complete 180 with LSU's pathetic offense. Currently you hear (all over this board) weeeell Bama's got the best defense in America and their OL is insane and their skill position units are unreal.
He doesn't get full credit. Some but not full credit.

It may not b/c Lane may take the Houston job. But there is a decent chance they've been burned too much by being the farm system for bigger programs and theyll put a deal breaking buyout on Lane.
Also - from a career rehab standpoint coming to LSU gives Lane a chance to show that without Saban's micromanagement he can steer clear of off the field issues.

Brando thinks Johnny Jones is a great coach.
That tells you all you need to know

Gets him out from under Saban's shadow. And maybe he wants to be patient and wait a year or so for a better HC job at a Power 5 school to open up instead of taking a HC job now then jumping ship to a new HC job in 2 years.

Lot of people saying he's only successful at Bama because of Saban, having the best O-line in the country, and just having better quality players than their opponents. If he comes to LSU and turns that one dimensional offense around, his stock goes up bigly.

LK to Houson, on paper, is a no brainer for him as would be a HC position. However, the large buy out issue could be a deal killer, as UH has lost its last 3 highly successful HC's to Power 5 programs. With CLM, however, I can't see him having any issue with a buy out clause at his age. The money man at UH did not get to be a multi billionaire by being stupid, & he has to know if LK is not locked in by a buy out clause, LK is gone in 2 seasons at best.

I wouldn't be so sure. If he's got his sights set on being HC at a Power 5 school within another season or 2, then might be better for him to either stay as OC at Bama or take same job at LSU. No one would criticize him if he came to LSU as OC and left after just one year to be HC somewhere else. But considering his abrupt departure from being HC at Tennessee after just one season to take the USC job, he'll catch a whole lot of criticism if he take the UH job then leaves after just a season or 2 for a bigger job.

Miles is the only one on the list that will sign a deal with a huge buy out. No upwardly mobile coach is willing to be tied down at Houston. Their egos are to big for that.

The Sexton/Kiffin buy-out stuff seems to have legs.
I hope it creates a sticking point…
Still a long way to go…and with Sexton, it's like a box of chocolates.
