First I’ll say, I’m not a member of TAF so I have no real skin in the game, doesn’t make a difference to me. I just want to see LSU succeed.

From a business standpoint, I understand with the new TV contracts we will be making significantly more money, allowing pay raises.

But with that said, unless the next coach has us in the playoffs 3 of the next 5 years, we likely over paid and underachieved. Seems like we are really putting all the chips on the table for this one.

Literally doesn’t matter. What sets the market today will be below market 3 years from now.

Getting Lincoln Riley from OU to LSU, would be worth every penny of 12-13 million a year.

It feels to me like spending a billion dollars on nuclear missiles the year before the Cold War ended.

I think big money college football is headed for a crash.

Pay the man. By that man I mean Riley. Let the rest of the SEC know we aren’t fricking around.

Unless there’s some big time heavy hitting oil and gas donors on TD… this should be the mindset of every mother fricker on this site

I look at it this way: You just raised 26 million in private donations to get rid of Orgeron. If you pay a guy 12 mil instead of 8 mil for 8 years, that's 32 mil. Not that big of a deal when you will be getting approx. 20 mil a year more from new TV deal.

It’s going to take a big number. Lot of jobs coming open and the supply doesn’t come close to meeting the demand

It is overpaying. But if the people writing the checks don't care, why should anyone?

Spend $25 I don’t give a shite. Just get the right coach that’s competitive, professional and runs a smooth program and keeps us in the hunt every year

Completely understand, which is why I said that in my OP. Not my problem, I’d love Riley here.

Just curious since this will be a market adjusting move. It’s worth discussing.

You’re paying 9 million for back to back losing seasons. It isn’t my money or yours so who gives a shiit. Give him 20 mill a year and a monthly BJ by you for all i care.

So we've gone from 10-12 million to 12-15 million in a couple of weeks?

I hope we're not bidding against ourselves, here.

That said, I really don't care.

I think for that amount of money it better be Saban. Otherwise pay the next coach 8-9 million.
