Do you really think Freeman would turn down the DC position at Alabama or Clemson to instead go to ND?

Yes.

It’s obviously not about money.

Dude is a football coach. Moving and uprooting your family is part of the deal.

So I don’t buy that

Sure, if it was a HC job I'm sure he would have moved halfway across the country. As far as a DC job he could go to any open spot that he wanted, and he chose one closer to his home.

ND is stable, Kelly isn't going anywhere, they'll win 9-10 games every year, and he'll move on to a HC job very soon from there. What more could LSU offer than money?

By that logic, Notre Dame should be attracting top assistants every year. They do not.

He grew up in the midwest/north. LSU isn't as big a deal up there as it is to us. Notre Dame is. And if he can stay up north, get more money and coach the D at a school as historical as Notre Dame, why wouldn't he? They just went to the playoffs. We went 5-5. He has a much easier path to the playoffs each year.
There is always more to it than rantards think. Or understand.

Didn’t they just attract and hire a top assistant in Freeman?

Yes, a rare feat for them.

It’s undeniably a lesser job than LSU, no matter how stable or whatever it is.

This was a LSU is too far away from where his family is and where they were raised. He has 6 kids and baton rouge isnt a good city to raise kids in. We probably offered him 2X what Notre Dame did, he chose to stay in his comfort zone and protect his family's best interest.

EXACTLY. We'll find the right fit for LSU.

Baton Rouge sucks so hard that a chunk of the city seceded and formed their own town.

He probably came across the Tiger Droppings Poli-board (or even the OT these days) while researching the Tigers and did a quick Homer Simpson backing into the bushes withdrawal.

Les rejected Chris offer to be an analyst / consultant. Since then , he turned in LSU despite his Dville roots. It’s sad. Very personal. CNS throws him a bone every now and then in typical CNS fashion (to appease Chris and keep him from turning to O). CNS knows his only real threat is LSU, so he does everything he can to either strengthen his position or weaken LSU. Sark went to Texas over Auburn for a reason

I honestly believe this will be a challenge for the LSU program under O. If you’re a young up and coming mind you want to be under a coach that can teach you on and off the field. O has not mastered either yet. Freeman made the right decisions if he aspires to be a head coach soon. Learn under Kelly and win 10+ games a year at a minimum.

I guess O should just buy a lottery ticket every day. Luckiest sum bitch in the world huh. Backed his way into one of the greatest CFB teams in history while barely being able to find the building every day.
