If it’s true that he didn’t want the job, I don’t blame him for milking them.

Ensminger doesn't want it. It seems more like power plays right now.

I agree that the more time passing raises some questions. I think that the BOS, Alleva, I, and TAF are stunned by the scale and intensity of the discontentment. When the Times Pic and Adicates come down as hard as they have, it is blowing people’s minds. Sadly, Ensminger is being dragged into the mud. And he deserves much better.

Ensminger is pushing go a four year 6 million dollar deal with a bonus if they average 25 points a game, Alleva says no bonus.

That's the sticking point.

That is laughable. Why not hire a real dude if Alleva is going to bend over for $1.5M/year. J Fn Christ!! Alleva must be the Monopoly $ court jester.

Are they trying to get a feel for the potential backlash?

Well... Chicken recently posted the poll on this board asking who we would vote for as OC. Ensminger currently has 5.8% of that vote.

Fast forward to this morning- Scott at Dandy Don posts a poll asking readers their approval rating if Ensminger "is the right choice for LSU". That poll is over 40% response "Absolutely not. This would set LSU back several years", and over 20% vote response "No (not the right hire). But LSU could do worse." That's a total of over 60% unfavorable rating, and that's even Dandy's soccer mom readers who fully supported the Orgeron hire.

So I'm crossing my fingers and donning my tinfoil hat. Maybe, just maybe, this information really was leaked to gauge public reaction.

I was thinking to myself earlier that the only way this could be any worse if if they give him some stupid contract terms.

Steve Ensminger is learning how O really feels about him or his “buddy” wouldn’t put him in this position. O cares about O, will use whoever to keep power.

I bet I could get a couple hundred grand out of alleva if I sat down and talked to him. Austin Thomas must have been really bad at negotiations.

If I had to guess they are waiting on officially being able to add a 10th coach. Then they will announce Eins to OC, McMahon to ST, Sullivan WR & Joseph to TE

No offense TBL, but a blind monkey could have predicted this backlash. It’s one of the worst hires in LSU football history given the circumstances, on the heels of the worst HC hire in LSU football history.

And the backlash has just begun. This is only the beginning. The end is near for all of them, and they know it. It’s an ugly, unsustainable situation at LSU right now.

i agree with people with the idea that they are waiting to release this late friday afternoon. its common knowledge now the best time to release bad news is on friday. they realize the backlash was coming with promoting from within.

With the outcry against SE being named as OC I can't imagine they'll announce him at a basketball game and risk getting booed by the fans. That would be a nightmare for the administration...

I think right now it’s Sullivan passing game coordinator and Joseph staying with the WRs.

Steve overseeing a GA will probably work with the TEs.
