The reason he is on the list is because now that Orgeron publicly dropped his name, we have to keep that up now.

Because he hired Orgeron is why his hand is in the OC search. He knows his LSU career rides on O’s success but he doesn’t trust him.

Evidenced by the meeting after the Troy game.

When I said the right hire was coming I meant it .

Alleva is more in charge of the search than I had originally thought. His hand is in this, and as long as it is, we might be safe from an SE hire anyways.

It shouldn't be this way though. You hire a head coach and then trust him with the autonomy to hire his coaching staff outside of the AD probing the hire for potential red flags. It's troubling that we've got a head coach who doesn't have that level of trust to run the program.

Alleva has never trusted Ed Orgeron. It shouldnt be that way but it is.

Trust when I say the AD is surfing the coaches market like his job is on the line.

Because it is.

Why hire someone you don't trust?

The infatuation with him is ridiculous anyway.

Yeah but if Alleva doesn't hire somebody Orgeron doesn't support does this situation just repeat itself next year?

If it repeats itself Orgeron and Alleva are gone.

Either way, we win.

At this point in time I'm on the Gilbert train, hitched up and riding. He's young and brilliant with a high floor and a very high ceiling.

After researching him some, it seems he likes intermediate out routes in the passing game. A lot. But, we have a receiving corp that could be very productive with that. And CEH would wreck shite in a Gilbert offense.

Briles ship has sailed. I give the brass a big "frick you" for blocking the Briles hire. If they want to do something right, they'll move on to another good option and get on Gilbert before someone else does.

Isnt it nice to fail on a guy, and then move on to the next guy who isnt already employed at LSU?

Gilbert was my first choice last year.

Just hire a real OC and lets start getting ready for next season.

Not here at LSU. Alleva operates on a different set of rules: his own. And at this point this has spiraled so far out of control that if/when the experiment fails, there's no choice but to clean house.

The next AD will see the immense intelligence and potential in Aranda and promote him to right the ship. And if we do happen to hire a good OC right now that changes pur offensive culture immediately, then that's a win. We kinda win and kinda lose either way.

The plan was to make the move before Houston offered. It all adds up now.

Alleva listened to the worst of the fans and nixed it.

Except that it’s been all over pay boards for weeks that Briles and Freeze were both deemed untouchable by the powers that be.

That would be beyond bad if Alleva doesn't trust O after giving him the HC position.
