I don't buy it because the consequences for Frank's career would be apocalyptic. He might be the foremost expert on recruiting New Orleans but some stains don't wash out. He's not throwing away his career so lightly.

We will lose Harlem Berry if Frank leaves. I know everybody is upset but let’s hope we can get it figured out so he stays.

With Frank, that’s only true for the running backs. And it’s pretty clear Frank is not the running backs coach.
Its true for the RB’s, OL’s, DL’s, WR’s. Defensive players have no clue if Blake Baker will be the DC either.
As Ive mentioned to others, its no different than us holding off on accepting a new job offer bc you dont have any clue who your boss will be.

Most people take jobs after only talking to the hiring manager. Not exactly b or c level jobs, but most people don't need to talk to the kitchen manager to be able to wash dishes or work the fryer.
Im obviously not talking about entry level jobs.
Ive never once taken a new position without asking to be able to meet with my direct supervisor. Hiring manager is only 1st interview. Normally your direct manager will be present for the 2nd or 3rd interview.

I'd love one one reporter with balls to ask Frank Wilson if he ever used players while at O.P. Walker that never attended the school and had graduated 2 year prior from another near by school.
What good would that do? I have no clue if thats true or not but when he says no, you still wont believe him.

Can we chill until we find out if this is actually true? I hope this isn't true on many levels.
Do you think chicken would allow umpteen threads on this in here if there wasn’t some truth to it, or he had sources confirming it?

You’re saying a rival sec coach wouldn’t hire him bc he turned on kiffin? If they thought it would help them bag a single recruit over us they’d take him in a heartbeat.

Frank wants to remain as the RB coach, and is now telling recruits to delay signing or consider other options until he gets clarity on that.
I guess I can bet against LSU in the bowl game

So nothing but rumors currently? If that's the case why let him coach the bowl game if trying to hold recruits hostage?
This. Fire him now. We'll be alright.

They absolutely would not. The HCs might all be backstabbing bastards but they're not going to tolerate it in assistants.
Let me have men about me that are fat,

He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

Maybe it hasn’t changed as much as you think if all the issues with recruits really are tied to Frank Wilson’s status on the coaching staff.

How’d Frank do recruiting at UTSA??

It has more to do with the massive NIL budget that's been so widely discussed. The Wilson rumors are probably bullshite. And possibly maliciously spread by OM folks.

I have no idea what the NIL budget was planned to be prior to hiring Kiffin, but they only promised him $10-$12M. That’s not massive relative to the $20M supposedly spent on the current roster. In any case, I’m not convinced the issues are anything other than players being uncertain about who will be on the coaching staff, particularly the defensive side. Either this isn’t about Wilson and there’s no reason to run him off or it is about Wilson and getting rid of him would not be without pain. The option that he deserves to be fired and doing so is no big deal really doesn’t hold water.

quote:Farewell & Adieu to King UCS. (Used Car Salesman) He can't effectively coach his RB's. Rotation/Participation is very bad and RB OL Hole Finding is almost as bad as the OL itself. (That's Coaching Stupid!)
So it’s out there to other coaches that if Frank doesn’t get what he wants he’ll recruit against his active employer?
Frank’s going to end up HC at Warren Easton before it’s all said and done.

$25-30M to NIL has been very widely reported. Supposedly OM could match the salary but they couldn't match the NIL. That's been a major part of the story for at least a week.

absolutely can't let one coach's ego derail an entire team. they become a cancer to a program. you get paid to do one thing and you can't do that. you are too worried about yourself.
Reminds me... of someone else here lately
