Ole Miss didn't learn from the Matt Luke experiment. He was a good position coach, but not ready for a head coach position, in fact, you could probably say the same for Coach O as well. Now Golding is a DC, but even so, he was not in demand by anyone, they should have done their due diligence on a full time HC hire! Time will tell...

Damn-y’all are dumb.

Google is your friend in why it was done and why it makes sense.

Have fun watching the CFP from your trailers and jail cells.

I love the hire. Fans just need to be patient and give him six or seven years to get it right!

He will keep them winning 7-9 games if he makes good hires, but they could tank quickly if he misses them.

It will be interesting to see who their OC ends up being.

No it’s not because we are all one hire away from terrible or terrific. I’m sure PG’s buyout isn’t large either.

You are right. Good thing OM locked him up, without exploring options, bc the rest of the college football world wanted him as their head coach. Bright days ahead for Ole Miss.

Bama replaced Saban in January sure it's highly unusual but it was probably the better option for Ole Miss

Didn't Saban announce his retirement in January well after the season?

He looks messy and dirty like he doesn’t brush his hair and his clothes are ill fitting. He doesn’t fit the ole miss image so he will be gone in one year.

And Spike was there yipping and jumping and begging for the job.

Spike is the big dog (calm, cool, collected). The little yappy dog is Chester the Terrier.

This is not the year to be on a coaching search. Roll with Pete next year, if he stinks fire him during the season and get a head start on a coaching search. Unless Urban will take the job.

His pic looks like someone on one of those sex offender postcards.

Has Pete Golding actually been presented with a new contract to be HC? I think him being named permanent instead of interim is to help their playoff case.

They had to have. He'd be a fool to accept a permanent HC position with no change in pay.
