Former Maryland head coach D.J. Durkin, fired in October after a lengthy investigation into the death of one of his players, has resurfaced at Alabama.

In his first foray back into football since his October firing, Durkin has been helping Alabama this past week in a consultant-like capacity, sources told AL.com

How can other schools compete? The playing field is not level.

On top and trying to improve their position...you have to admire it and question your own leadership.

Eventually they will film a rehab type reality tv show at Alabama ops building.

He'll love it there. They don't do lengthy investigations into deaths. Just ask Logan Young.

Saban may actually catch enough shite on this to rethink his decision. Like signing Jonathan Taylor.

So the SEC approves Durkin but not Freeze?

if the SEC approved Freeze, he'd be on Saban's staff.

I know it won't fit your agenda but he is just a consultant right now not an analyst. Every team brings in someone like this during the season or off season to see if they can help find something to get a better feel for other teams. Carry on though.

Gotta believe if Saban wanted Freeze the SEC would have made it happen. It’s what they do...

Things like this is why Saban has delivered 5 natty's to Bama since he's gotten there. He doesn't give a frick what it takes to be the champ. Questionable hires? so what, they fricked up and he uses their knowledge to help him win games. He's had 2 OC's that were likely of worse character than Durkin.

Well Durkin was actually briefly reinstated to his position before the public outcry. He technically didn't do anything illegal.
