The most reasonable explanation is that Woodward was outmanuevered.

There are only three explanations for the current predicament.

First, Woodward attempted to get Riley and failed. Either OU convinced him to stay or Riley had the inevitable eleventh hour change of heart.

Second, the entire Riley escapade was a collective figment of the imagination.

Third, Woodward and his accomplices created the Riley scenario as a diversion for some reason.

Of these three, scenario one is most likely. There was too much commentary from too many sources at both schools to be a pure delusion. And I cannot think of any legitimate reason Woodward would use Riley as the mythical "smokescreen."

In what world would Riley leave what he has in Norman for Baton Rouge? I don’t know that anyone outside the city of BR would ever think that LSU is a better job than OU.

I’m sure if Woodward apologized to Napier, he would take a look at LSU before signing the Florida deal.

Woodward has hit homers, he’s bound to strike out. Just a bad time to do so.

the most reasonable explanation is that riley was never an option, he was just mentioned on this board and people took it and ran with it. the actual list is likely much different than we've been hearing here

He was literally hired to make this hire correctly. If he screws this up, he needs to be out on his arse with O.

We have absolutely zero idea what is happening.

You’re taking message board rumors and assigning fact to it.

This is the only one that matters

He can't strike out

That's not reasonable because of the sheer array of people commenting. It wasn't just this board, it was the OU insiders and moderators as well. And recruits. If it had been limited to speculation here, that would be one thing.

In a world made of championships and money. Go win something then come back here and talk shite.

(IMO) It’s a combination of all 3

Woodward tried to get Riley. He said no. Talks were never serious.

Fake insiders who want internet karma post on here to try and be the predictor without knowing anyone, or by hearing from a janitor who overheard someone saying Riley’s name

There of course are other options and most likely who we end up with is nowhere near the caliber of anyone that anyone on this board wants. It’ll be a C or D tier hire like Napier and then this board, who was completely convinced that it was Riley and shunning anyone who denied it until 15 mins ago, will sell themselves on this D tier hire and do the same thing - shunning the naysayers

I’d say Woodward has sort of struck out with the Jimbo hire at A&M also.

During the last ~23 years, OU has had two long-tenured, great minds in football at their helm. And played in the Big 12. 1 natty, and a lot of embarrassing losses on the big stage where their talent was simply outclassed.

In the same time span, LSU has had three coaches each win a championship. 2 morons and a visionary. And you think this job isn’t as good as OU? Lol

Umm this is the only option. You idiots.

I’ve been trying to tell you this for damn near a month now.

Also, I’m not sure if I’d rather of Aranda or LR at OU.
