Aranda and his family love Baton Rouge and feel very comfortable at LSU. He's also very loyal to LSU and won't leave without an absolutely incredible offer (which he now has). While he may be loyal, he also expects loyalty to be shown in return. LSU may not even need to match A&M's offer, but they will have to up the ante a bit. This is why no official announcement has been made yet. It's being worked on. LSU basically holds all the cards. They can either pay up or choose to save money.

If the model is to low ball on the head coach in order to pay the top coordinators top dollar then LSU needs to step up. If they do not Step Up they have submitted the last 17 years

"Blank Check" is what I've heard from all the A&M pay sites. LSU will have to pony up a lot. Which they might do.
