Doubt this matters at this point. If he was staying he would've already signed. I doubt anyone at Ole Miss wants him staying. He's cooked and he knows it. If he stayed could you imagine the reactions? I'm not sure Ole Miss fans would allow it lol.

I didn't say they're the same. He said Kiff won't want to build a legacy in Saban's shadow. That's exactly what he'll be doing in Baton Rouge.
The structure of your OP was weird. Most people didn’t read past the 4th sentence and still haven’t realized you are saying he’s going to LSU, NOT Bama.

They literally go to Atlanta if/when they beat Auburn
Pretty sure Aggie needs to lose and Bama needs to win for bama to go to ATL.

They would definitely take him back if he commits to them after the game tom. Or on Saturday.

If Kiffin chooses to stay, which I think is still a possibility, he and the fans are going to have a very tenuous relationship. Like a spouse that’s been caught cheating.
They’re going to hoot and holler for a year, maybe two. Then, he will get linked to another opening and it won’t be a slow burn next time. They will immediately turn on him.

I love LSU great Job. One of the top jobs in America. But I have to agree. There's a few programs that are slightly bigger jobs historically. But this millennium LSU is right there with the big dogs.. Ohio State Alabama and maybe one or two more is about all anyone could argue this point imo

Why the hell would you want to build a legacy at a school where two other all time great coaches coached at?
Lane would never be anywhere close to Saban or Bear Bryant to Alabama fans no matter what.
Kiffin would be THE legend and get a statue at LSU most likely if he wins multiple national titles. So no, i think the “Lane wants Alabama “ narrative is bullshite. Unless Lane just wants to be third best.

That’s my thinking as well. Why would you want to compete with Saban’s legacy there while he’s still in a damn office down the hall at that? None of the coaches at LSU have won more than one championship before leaving. He could put in work and get multiple nattys and make himself the guy here.

They've already had to deal with this somewhat when the Auburn job was last open.

116 downvotes for telling the truth.
Like I said on Thursday, Congrats on your new head coach Tigers.

Interesting post, OP. Surely if he keeps winning though, the bad blood ends at some point.
