I was just thinking the same thing about Nick Rolovich. Haven't heard a peep in quite a while. It's a definite sign that "a" Nick will once again be leading the LSU Bengal Tigers !!!!!

Would not be a bad hire, don't think it happens though!

Jimbo would be a huge mistake. He is more similar to miles than most people think. He has a system and he has not evolved it. He doesn't really change with the times. I'm skeptical he would win big here.
The way he has talked about the RPO makes me really nervous. He came across as a guy who would much rather take his ball and go home than ever adapt his system to a changing landscape.

That he is a damaged good and no longer in demand.

thankfully your arse is not in charge!!!
YES JIMBO SUX! NEVER WON ANYTHING! NEVER DEVELOPED QB's! NEVER HAD RECORD BREAKING OFFENSES! NEVER WON ANY TITLES AT LSU OR FSU!

I've read this on here before, maybe from you...but please explain further.

Yall don't realize it but jimbo is fundamentally very similar to miles in personality minus the weird language and grass chewing.
He is very stubborn particularly about his offense.

Could be the case. I doubt he was very happy with the outcome of last year's debacle, but he does seem completely over FSU at this point.

FSU's Jimbo Fisher thinks Auburn’s run-pass option plays are 'illegal'
His comments wreek of a guy who thinks his way is real football, and anyone who doesn't do it his way should have the refs up their arse rather than him having to adapt. Bad calls happen, and the RPO is a huge part of successful offenses right now. Contrast that with Saban:
Sometimes adapting means using a strategy you don’t like
quote:
“What they’re doing on offense right now is illegal. Should never be part of football, and I’m an offensive guy,” Fisher said. “When you can have a lineman go three yards down the field and it’s a pass, there’s something wrong with that.” “When we played Auburn for the national championship, they had a lineman seven yards down the field on the pass they threw that tied it up before the ‘Kick Six’. They would have never been there, should have been illegal.”

quote:
“You know, just like I don’t necessarily agree with the illegal man down field rule and a guy should be able to go seven yards down field on a pass play. I don’t agree with that. But it is a part of our game. It is the rule. So, for us to not use those plays is a disadvantage for us,”
“So even though we may not philosophically agree that this is the way football was meant to be played or should be played, if it creates issues for the other team and for the defense, and pace of play has been something that I think has done that, so have all of these run pass option plays that people run, then we need to use those things, too, or we’re creating a disadvantage for ourselves. It’s been a work in progress for us to learn how to do that because we do not have an offensive coach on our staff that came from that background, came from that hurry-up, no-huddle offense. I think our coaching staff, including Lane, has done a fantastic job sort of developing a system that has been very effective for us.”

that's not the way I read it at all.
he's not saying he has any issue whatsoever with the philosophy of the RPO.
he's saying if it's illegal for a lineman to be downfield on just a straight drop back pass from ISO formation, then it should also be illegal on an RPO play.

This. Drunk is nitpicking on something that wasn't even the point of his argument. Jimbo has a point.

Its Jimbo. Its always been Jimbo. Just a matter of time.........

I won't debate that, it's a matter of interpretation. I said his comments made me nervous, not that he was outright wrong.

I am gonna disagree here that that's all he meant. While he's correct that 7 yards is illegal, 3 yards isn't. 3 yards is currently the rule, and he says "there's something wrong with that." It doesn't matter if it's a dropback or an RPO, that's the rule in college, and he seems more interested in changing that rule than adapting to it.
I'm not gonna attack Fisher's offensive track record up until now, it's been good, but he's creeping up on his second three loss season in a row in a relatively weak conference and he wants to complain about the rules now?
I think there's a stark contrast there with how proactive both Saban's comments and actions have been by hiring Kiffin and giving his young QB high percentage throws and RPOs.

This is a problem. He should take advantage of the rules instead of thinking he is above using it

How close do you follow jimbo? Do you think he is just having a down year, on the decline of his coaching career, or checked out because he is going to leave? Just curious what your thoughts are since you're a Noles fan.

It feels like a decline. This goes back to 2014 when that team didn't listen to him. I think Jimbo is a good coach, but he may have a short shelf life at one place.
He is way too stubborn with his offense. Outside of 2013 he has squandered a lot of talent at wide receiver.
I'm at the point that I wouldn't mind him leaving. I'm kinda ready for something new. I say that knowing FSU could make a bad hire. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case.

Oh hey, how you been, I've been looking for you. You usually just keep digging bigger and bigger holes for yourself even though you are always wrong. I guess you didn't see my response to your earlier post and my response. I stayed up late last night hoping you would enlighten me some more crap like only you can do.
My original post:
"No comparison only because CEO never coached at Bowling Green or Utah. If he had started at a lower level program it may have been much different than starting at a SEC school and the level of competition that comes with it."
Your reply and my answer to you. I was looking forward to your response.
