Not saying you’re right or wrong, but it’s not just fans. The media is hyping up this job by asking every single coach about their interest.

Since it’s early in the search and we probably have 2+ more months to go, we can probably let everyone in on our early Riley secret/strategy:

-Yes, everyone would LOVE a Lincoln Riley hire, it would be a grandslam
-Most understand that it’s probably not realistic
-if by some crazy chance it is realistic and possible, we certainly as fans don’t want to inadvertently derail the hire with too much chatter about it
-strategy: throw a wet blanket on any Riley chatter and dismiss it as “not happening” but at the same time signal to CCB junkies that you actually mean “hell yeah I want it to happen, would be an awesome hire”
-strategy for commenting on Riley chatter: “don’t get riled up…Riley not happening”

Ask yourself why did we end up with Orgeron? Yes, Alleva was a dumbass but coaches used LSU to get the money they wanted. They didn't take the job.

One coach who had ties to Texas took Texas over LSU and Alleva happened. So yeah. He literally started out at Texas.

And I don't fault any coach for not wanting to come work under O.

IF, BIG IF, Bama is moved to the East (assuming it isn't broken into pods) OU will be the team to beat in the West. Riley has it made at OU, which is a top 5 all-time program, great facilities, and recruits well nationally. Add SEC cache' and the players they recruit will see playing an SEC schedule instead of a Big 12 schedule? They finna' eat.

Everyone keeps talking about the recruiting aspect of him wanting to come here. I suggest you go scroll down the top 150 recruits list for the next 2 years. He’s getting plenty of talent at OU

I riley dont like what you're trying to do to my thing here.

2 months is a riley long time for Woody to make a riley great hire.

Trust the Wood, he's gonna prove that he riley is the GOAT AD.

They do a great job national recruiting but not quite good enough to put them over the hump. That's LSU's only selling point to Riley right now.

Coaches want to win. Knowing he can’t get over the hump at OU, but coach O and Les got over that hump while at LSU. That is a positive for LSU.

Having said that…..as much as I would love it, Riley ain’t coming here.

I don’t even give the Riley stuff a second thought.

But, the “they fired 2 coaches in 5 years” screed needs to go, too.

Not a single coach mentioned in any serious ways looks at Les Miles and Ed O and thinks ‘if they fired THOSE two….I am in trouble’.

Jeebus. Les and O being fired after winning NCs is not what these coaches will think about . Les and O actually WINNING NCs is the story.

That's weird duece, Josh Pate completely disagrees with you and he tells it like it is.

Its not from his home state of Oklahoma. He recruits against Okla St, Nebraska, Texas, and Arkansas every year. At LSU he has way less competition for recruits. Louisians is fertile ground for recruiting. Much better than what OU has. How many NC'S does Riley have after 4 years at OU?

Yeah and he'd still get that same talent and then some at LSU.

There is certain talent he is still going to struggle to get to OU, IMO.

There is also times where there is a huge difference between a #1 ranked class and a #2. #1 can only be ranked 1, because you can't go any higher. That has been Bama at times.

I really can't stand LSU fans like you that dismiss things believing LSU fans are just being homers.

Josh Pate said this is viewed as one of the top jobs in football, period, not just college. He also says the perception as highly as you may think of it is even more highly thought of in coaching circles.

Just watch the video I posted.

You must be triggered to keep responding to this. Doesn't change the fact the job is not as attractive as you're making it out to be. It's undoubtedly a great opportunity but you're not going into a program like Oklahoma and stealing their coach. They can pay him what we pay him and their program resources are pretty damn amazing considering they're not in the SEC. Oh yeah, they're going to be in the SEC too...so...yeah. Riley talk is stupid. He hasn't even been mentioned anywhere but here.
