I agree 100% with this hire! I listened to him speak at a coaches clinic a few years back and was super impressed with him. You can tell listening to him that he has the “it” factor. He sounded like Nick Saban speaking but wasn’t an a-hole! I was impressed of how detail oriented everything is and how it’s all part of the process. I could easily tell why his players are very passionate about him and the fact that he didn’t just run after the next big job like Auburn for example shows it has to be a right fit. I hope he is the fit for LSU!

How do you think coaches get their start and move up to major programs? Imagine Georgia fans in 2016 saying something like "We just got rid of a coach with a.740 winning percentage, and some of you retards want to replace him with a guy who has never been a head coach?"

Very true, but this is way over most of the people's head on here!

Anyone that doesn’t want Napier hasn’t been paying attention. He made effing ULL relevant(ish) for fricks sake.

What's even more impressive is ULL is 9th of 12 in the Sun Belt in funding for the football program. If you read what he's done since he's been there, he's built the program from the ground up.

I'm not saying he should be the guy, but he needs to be given an interview and fair consideration.

I like the fact he has ties to Louisiana and has been with a big SEC program before. I'm sure he could persuade Rob Sale to return to his Alma Mater which would also heavily benefit in recruiting throughout the state. He definitely deserves the interview and a fair chance!

Napier is the best choice in a field of good coaches. If we don't hire him Alabama will in a couple of years and he will sign so many Louisiana kids it will make your head spin.

Woody isn’t hiring ULL’s coach

Woody will hire whoever he thinks is the best coach for the job.

If the rant had their way, Jay Johnson would never have made it to LSU.

This is what I think is the most likely thing to happen. I don't think that he has a big enough name for woodward, so Napier will be perfectly happy staying where he is building an even bigger name for himself.

I could also see him taking something else in a couple of years, but the fit would have to be 100% right for him to move, so it's not as likely as some would think.

FYI: he is right now worried about how his kids will handle the current wealth that he has. He never expected it, and does not want to raise 'trust-fund' type kids. I think that by time Saban retires will also be perfect timing for Napier to move on. Also, he refused the free car that coaches usually get, and is driving his 2016 vehicle. Guy was raised living check-to-check with his dad being a HS coach, and he always thought that is what he would do as well.

There is a reason that national and local media aren’t putting it out there that LSU is interested in Napier and it’s because none of Napier’s people or his agent *cough* is reaching out to them to get his name amplified.

Napier is already and has already been in contact with LSU through his agent.

I think he has a win against 1 top 20 team. Not that is all his fault but he is a gamble.

I am a big Napier fan.. (My daughter is in the ULL band) but he makes at least one decision per game that makes you think WTH?

Seriously? LSU doesn't need a need a lower mid level guy looking to build a resume. LSU needs to hire a "proven big dog".

If Napier wasn't coaching a Louisiana school then no one on this board would even be familiar with him.

I'm honestly getting sick of the circle jerk that's gradually forming around this guy. I saw the same thing happen with Orgeron and Matt Canada.
