With everything else being equal, pay, resources, fan support. As a coach you’d have to decide which is better, Athens is a better place to live, but LSU is the only big program in a talent rich state, they border Texas and there are no major programs within 5 hours of Baton Rouge.

Very similar jobs. LSU has been able to win championships whereas Georgia has not- but if Kirby broke through they could dominate (or at least win a championship periodically).
I think both schools fall into the rare category of program where the right coach can transform them into a perennial powerhouse with championship success. It's just rare for one of those programs to land and retain their Bowden, Solich, Saban, or Wilkinson for a decade or two.
And schools which lose or don't support their fundamental football edge (Miami, Nebraska, USC, perhaps Michigan) may not return to the mountaintop again. LSU investing in the program and rebuilding led to the return of their success which had disappeared in the 90s.

Prestige??? As a university and overall school, sure, but 3, 4 and 5 star recruits aren’t playing college football to major in biomedical engineering or some legit major.
Money, yes, definitely. But we just bought out the second highest paid coach in college football. And our future national championships will makeup for the discrepancies, I’m sure.
PRESTIGE. BRAND??? Dude, I’m 34 and grew up in the 90s. I didn’t even know Georgia had a football team when I was a kid. We’ve owned their asses most years, and when we didn’t they still couldn’t seal the deal. Georgia is an untalented version of Greg Norman.
We won 3 titles with 3 coaches. Georgia has... well, you know. Nothing.

Slight edge to LSU because of the recent national championships.
Does that matter in the wake of O getting canned 21 months removed from a CFP trophy?

If you dropped an LSU and a UGA fan in a foreign country, I think more people recognize LSU based on colors, the eye of the tiger (not to mention most LSU gear says “LSU” on it ) vs. the black and white green bay packers logo. I think LSU wins the branding discussion as well when you account for the likes of Shaq, Maravich, Beckham, Mathieu etc as pretty universally known alumni

There's a muddled history of the G.
At the time, it wasn't possible to trademark a single letter.
From the UGA Athletic Dept site

This sounds exactly like Georgia under Greg McCheapity (McGarity) and everybody before him. If GM had gotten his way in 2016, Dopey Dan fricking Mullen would be the Georgia head football coach. The boosters had to overrule him to get Kirby the job.
Damn right athletic department leadership matters.

LSU easy because of logistics. LSU own's the state typically. Talking about the job not the coaches or how good GA is doing. Other than that they're pretty close.
