although I think that hypo is pretty dumb as Oklahoma is a more prestigious football program than either UGA or LSU.

Maybe in 1995.

You’re wrong but even still, it doesn’t matter. Georgia can’t win with guys people claim to be good coaches while LSU wins with guys the media claims to be dunces.

It's certainly not because LSU has advantages or disadvantages over UGA.

If you don’t think LSU has advantages over UGA then I don’t know what to tell you.. look at the WRs/RBs/DBs in the NFL. That’ll tell you all you need to know

Close. Athens is a really nice town and that part of the country is really nice. Louisiana has the edge on in state talent. Right now the SEC East is the easy rout to the MNC, that won't all ways be the case. Sooner or Later UF will be a major power again. LSU will have to play Nick Saban every year, but UGA will have to beat Bama or whom ever beats Bama in the SEC Championship Game.

Not in athletics. LSU dominates Georgia in the three major sports. No one would choose Georgia over LSU if they were competing for the same head coach at the same time. Georgia is closer to Ole Miss than they are to LSU, athletically

Circumstances play a role Richt had the same record in 2002 as LSU did in 2003 and had the same number of loses as Miles in 2007.

UGA and LSU Athletics bring in comparable revenues and have fairly comparable recruiting situations imo. I don't think there is really much difference between the two jobs. If the college town experience mattered Vanderbilt and Arkansas would play in Atlanta every year.

Top per capita NFL players

It's common knowledge that Nick Saban said this to several people after 3 years at bama..

" you can win here but this ain't lsu"

LSU without a doubt. LSU is a top 5 job counting the NFL.

This is objective and any coach on any level would say the same

What’s the funny part? LSU is far ahead of Auburn too. The last sentence was hyperbole but the rest is fact

your post tell me you are just a biased LSU fan.

are those the only positions? I don't live in Ga or follow UGA but just off the top of my they are pretty loaded with NFL RBs and I'm pretty sure the state is 4th in total # of NFL players and only 9th or 10th in population.

The state is loaded, both are very attractive

bullshite. The only thing prestigious in the state of Alabama is football. It doesn’t matter where you are in the SEC- if you win big, you have all the prestige there is in college sports. If you do it consistently, it pours down on you, whether you are at Bama, UGA, LSU, Florida, A&M, etc.

LSU is an elite program but if we have such an advantage over the rest of the country please explain the 90s to me because those were my HS and college years and we sucked arse. Coaching matters

I agree both are good jobs. I think UGA has a lot more appeal if you're trying to lure an already high-end coach. Like Riley

UGA hired a coordinator last go round. He’s done well so perhaps they’ve been bumped up a bit.

Don’t disagree here if only because LA seems to be bottoming out.

Explain the 90s to you? That’s the simplest thing in the world- Joe Dean.

He was a cheap arse AD who made multiple bad hires and didn’t spend money on facilities. He reinforced an existing narrative that LSU was and would always be cheap. Look at what happened as soon as he lost control over the athletic department- 20 straight years of success.

Coaching matters, but overall athletic program leadership matters even more.
