Horns painted into a corner. Texas’ desperation to get — and overpay — a component coach probably keeps them from firing Sark. Even $30 million buyout is too much for the Orangeblood cigars. If not, who do they get?

Am I the only one who thinks they should have never fired Herman? Herman was ten fold over Strong and Sark. Sark was just a really baffling move to me. I’m not sure if Texas can ever be good again with their Athletic Department and boosters, too much meddling.

Wanting to fire a coach not even through his first season is deranged. Already has a top 10 class and the #1 class in the Big XII.

People are stupid.

It's as if their athletic department is run by tRANT

It's not too much per se, Texas prints money, but they just can't fire their HC after a year. More of a pride thing than it is money.

Texas should absolutely find the spare change and admit that it was a chit hire. Again, they won't do it.

They'll fire the DC as the scapegoat.

Texas needs an Aranda or Rhule. They aren't that smart though. Too many donors who want their voices heard.

And just lost to Kansas, and is now probably not gonna be bowl eligible. Sark is awful.

Herman gets unfairly criticized.

Texas is just a bad program. He actually did quite well there.

Once Texas hits the SEC, they’re done for. Get ready to be a baseball school.

I think it’s debatable but not bc he’s so much better. Certainly not 10 fold. Problem will be neither is a major improvement over the other at Texas.

Charlie Strong 16-21 in 3 seasons at Texas. Sark now 4-6 in his first year. Herman was 32-18 with no losing seasons in 4 years. That’s much more than either Strong or Sark can even say.

I think you'll eat your words. Sark has done nothing as a head coach to warrant getting the Texas or even the USC job.

Herman wouldn't have lost to Kansas.

Maybe not.

But can anyone here give Leipold some credit? Guy is a damn good coach and has a pretty damn good resume.

Kansas will be bowling by ‘23.

They should've stolen Saban.

Ok so they didn’t play last year. The 2 games prior to that was a 50-48 home win and before that they won by a TD in Lawrence.
Hardly reassuring.

They tried. The boosters who actually try to coach the team scared him away I would imagine. They’re fricking crazy over there.

Texas knew what challenges Sarkisian had in front of him.

This is true. Saban took a long look at Texas and considered it, but realized he couldn’t have the control over the program he needs. Texas is it’s own worst enemy.

Good luck holding that class together with your recruits watching you lose to Kansas at home.

ETA: A 1-8 Kansas at that time.
