Being “run off” from Arkansas to co-coordinate the Ohio State defense and win a national title sounds pretty sweet.

Basing success from a job as a co-coordinator is dangerous IMO.

Underwhelming DC hire but if he could get Graham he might just turn things around

I don’t understand why Herman suddenly needs a hotshot OC. I thought HE was the brilliant offensive mind? Isn’t that why everybody wanted him?

Must be a full moon when that picture was taken because he looks like he's about 30 seconds from being a werewolf.

Believe his squads were notorious about giving 10 yard cushions in the secondary and not getting pressure up front.

Seems odd when he is known for running press quarters.

How would that blend with Herman who’s philosophy is more like Urban’s power spread type off

I’d guess Harrell will bring the passing game and they’ll keep the running game led by Herman and Herb Hand.

Orlando was better.

Could certainly make this argument, last season excluded. However, Ash seems like a solid but conservative choice.

The sip mods called this more than two weeks ago. Herman simply doesn't have the chops and connections to make a good hire.

After he left Arkansas, the defense climbed to nearly a top 10 defense.

Didn’t OSU hire him more for his recruiting chops and less for his on field coaching? Pretty sure that’s what I heard from buckeye fans when he took the Rutgers job.

He landed on his feet after being forced out but his successor here with the same roster immediately had an instant impact. Dudes is just not a very good DC

Been all over the A&M boards for weeks now. There is a great thread about all things sip on TexAgs called the "tears" thread. Their fans have been hating on this possible hire for awhile, and provide some great quotes as a result

Reminds me of when we all died before Miles hired Steele when we thought we were getting Aranda.

It’s interesting to me how Arky fans ignore Ash success at Wisconsin and Ohio St.

Texas doesn't have the DL depth to run a four man front. They do have an excess of DB's though.
