Yahoo: Ash to Texas as DC

quote:

Tom Herman is turning to a former co-worker to coordinate his defense. According to Rivals’ Orangebloods.com, former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash will be Texas’ new defensive coordinator. Former Texas defensive coordinator Todd Orlando was fired at the end of the 2019 regular season amidst a staff shakeup in Austin.

Texas still looking for an OC, rumors point to Graham Harrell at USC if he doesn’t get a HC position.

Lol good luck. He wasn't very liked while DC at Arkansas and was basically run off

Believe his squads were notorious about giving 10 yard cushions in the secondary and not getting pressure up front.

For a program with seemingly unlimited resources that is an underwhelming hire.

Lmao so he fires two of his buddies and then turns around and just hires another. What a terrible hire. The days of Tom Herman are numbered.

Underwhelming DC hire but if he could get Graham he might just turn things around

Being “run off” from Arkansas to co-coordinate the Ohio State defense and win a national title sounds pretty sweet.

Anyone think Mizzou will be a better team than Texas in a couple of years? I think so!

From what I saw, he was their safe "back-up." I believe they kicked the tires with Utah's DC

Curious for those that know better; but how well would Harrell’s philosophy mesh with Herman’s?

I’ll be the first to admit, I haven’t really paid much attention to USC this year; but isn’t Harrell more from an air raid coaching tree/system? How would that blend with Herman who’s philosophy is more like Urban’s power spread type offense?

it won't matter. Herman will be gone in 2 years or less.
