It’s interesting to me how Arky fans ignore Ash success at Wisconsin and Ohio St.
bert meddled in the defense. he seemed to hire guys more aggressive than himself and then play with a 10 yard cushion and rarely blitz.
with that said ash wasnt spectacular here and he wasnt calling plays at ohio state

This has a high potential to be a big boo-boo.

High potential.
Rutgers was a dumpster fire under Ash and his defensive schemes were terrible.
I’ve never seen a coach so utterly fail to motivate players. It was amazing in the exact wrong way.
Can he turn it around? I guess. I think he may have gotten exposed, though, and I’m not sure if he’ll recover.

I would say that is an accurate assessment of what we witnessed (with his defense) at Arkansas as well.
It makes me wonder what Tom Herman is really thinking with this hire.

Didn’t OSU hire him more for his recruiting chops and less for his on field coaching? Pretty sure that’s what I heard from buckeye fans when he took the Rutgers job.
His recruiting chops certainly didn't seem to show up at Rutgers.
Was an ok DC at UW. Nothing to really write home about as I recall.

More traditional scheme and they worked together at Ohio St.

What did you expect from Tom? He is dead man walking and looks like he will be gone sooner than later at Texas!
