The Houston Texans are firing offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday, per sources.
In addition to Slowik's dismissal, offensive line coach Chris Strausser is also no longer with the club, per Rapoport.
Slowik had been with Houston since 2023.
Around the NFL will have more on Houston's shakeup soon.

In not even 12 months he went from a hot coaching name to now looking for work.

That’s pretty wild. He was spoken of as like a Ben Johnson type of rising OC candidate after last year and got a few interviews
That’s why the idea of these young guys waiting for the right job is easier said than done

There were other factors that led to the struggles this year but he simply didn’t adjust. Stayed with tons of long developing deep drop type looks even when the line was gutted. I am interested to see who they go for assuming they stay in the Shanny tree

This already happened to Joe Brady years ago.

That baw having one really good season is gonna get him like 10 more years of jobs though at a minimum in the NFL
They hate trying new things, welcome to the not very good but keeps getting paid merry go round Bobby

My first thought as well. Ben Johnson just signed a record breaking contract for a first time HC, while Slowik is looking for work.
A porous offensive line, WR injuries, and a second year regression from the QB can’t all be blamed on Slowik.

Ah the old Kubiak excuse. Maybe both can turn injuries off at their next coaching stop.

We talking about Slowik or Kubiak?

Man, the coaching profession is fickle. One year you're the it guy, and the next you're canned. Slowik was last year's Ben Johnson. This year he's a fired arse.
